Martin Luther King Jr’s Niece Slams Kamala Harris: You’re Nothing Like Him Because You’re Pro-Abortion

Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., called out Kamala Harris on Tuesday for attempting to portray herself as a civil rights leader while advocating for abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

Harris, the vice president-elect and a radical pro-abortion Democrat, recently was accused of plagiarizing a story that King shared in 1965, the Daily Wire reports.

On Tuesday, his niece told Fox Business host Lou Dobbs that Harris is nothing like her famous uncle.

“Kamala knows that her worldview is totally different than the worldview of Martin Luther King Jr.,” Alveda King said. “So it’s a big stretch for her to compare herself or to sound like him or to use some of his some analogies.”

According to the report, Harris told Elle magazine in October that she attended a civil rights march with her parents as a young girl in California. Harris said she fell out of her stroller and her parents initially did not notice; when they did find her, she said her mother asked, “‘Baby, what do you want? What do you need?’ And I just looked at her and I said, ‘Fweedom.’”

The story is similar to one King shared with Playboy magazine in 1965 about a young girl who he saw at a Birmingham, Alabama march with her mother. King said a white police officer stopped her and demanded, “What do you want?” King said the little girl looked right at the man and answered, “Fee-dom.”

Reacting to the plagiarism accusations, Alveda King said her uncle fought for human rights but Harris fights against them.

“For instance, Kamala believes that it’s okay to abort babies up to nine months,” she said. “And if you meant to abort the baby and the baby lives, then let the baby die. Martin Luther King Jr. served the public. He did not kill the public, and that would include babies in the womb.

“He said, ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,’” King continued. “So she’s nothing like Martin Luther King, Jr. but she still—there she is, playing on those emotions again.”

Harris has a 100-percent pro-abortion voting record. She recently opposed legislation to protect late-term unborn babies from abortion and newborns from infanticide. In 2018, she was a vocal opponent of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill to prohibit abortions after 20 weeks when strong scientific evidence indicates unborn babies can feel pain.

Harris’s record suggests she has used her political power to persecute pro-life advocates, too. Infamously, when she was attorney general of California, Harris also raided undercover journalist David Daleiden’s home after he exposed Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade. According to The Federalist, Harris met six Planned Parenthood leaders just two weeks before the raid. A newly uncovered document from the California Department of Justice document suggests Harris may have received specific instructions from the abortion chain about what to take when her office raided Daleiden’s home.

As vice president, Harris is expected to use her power in the divided U.S. Senate to try to force Americans to pay for abortions. Democrat leaders want to end the Hyde Amendment, which blocks taxpayer funding for elective abortions in Medicaid and other federal programs. The Charlotte Lozier Institute estimates the amendment has saved 2.4 million unborn babies from abortion.

Harris also supports Roe v. Wade and wants to “codify” the abortion case into federal law to prevent states from protecting unborn babies even if the infamous ruling is overturned.
