Vice President Mike Pence gathered with pro-life leaders Wednesday to celebrate the historic accomplishments for life that have been achieved over the past four years.

Pence highlighted President Donald Trump’s actions to defund Planned Parenthood, protect religious freedom for pro-life health care workers and employers and more during the “Life is Winning: Celebrating 4 Years of Pro-Life Accomplishments.”

CBN News reports he described Trump as “the most pro-life president ever” and promised that they and their families will continue to stand for life.

“I want to assure you that while we have made great progress in the cause of life, the fight goes on,” Pence said, “and I promise you on behalf of the president, the first family and on behalf of my family, we are going to stand with you every single day until the sanctity of life is restored to the center of American law.”

Trump repeatedly has spoken up for unborn babies and defended their right to life. He developed a long list of pro-life accomplishments, including defunding the abortion chain Planned Parenthood through his Title X and Mexico City policies, leading dozens of United Nations countries in publicly opposing the international agency’s pro-abortion agenda, cutting off taxpayer funding to scientific research that used aborted baby body parts, enacting policies to protect pro-life medical workers and employers, and more.

During the event Wednesday, the Trump administration announced two new actions to protect the rights of pro-life Americans and the unborn babies who they fight for. One action will withhold $200 million in Medicaid funds from the state of California because of its policy essentially forcing Christians to fund abortions. The second action is a lawsuit against the University of Vermont Medical Center for allegedly discriminating against a pro-life nurse by forcing her to help with an elective abortion despite her conscience objections.

Pence praised pro-life leaders for their continued efforts to save unborn babies and educate and support mothers. He promised that he will never stop being a defender of unborn babies’ right to life.

“In all of my days that remain on this earth, I will always stand for life, and I will always stand with each and every one of you. That’s my solemn promise,” Pence said. “I promise you: We will never stop fighting for the right to life.”

Afterward, Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser thanked Pence and the rest of the Trump administration for their continued pro-life actions.

“Under their strong leadership, life is truly winning in America,” she said. “Federal conscience laws are more essential than ever at a time when pro-abortion Democrat-led states have tried to force health care professionals and entities, like nurses and insurance providers, to participate in abortion. We thank President Trump for taking assertive action now, and for delivering one pro-life victory after another over the past four years.”
