Diane Feinstein Refuses to Say if Life Begins at Conception: “I’m Not Going to Answer the Question”

Democrat U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein dismissed a journalist’s question about when life begins as irrelevant this week despite her steady, on-going support for abortion on demand.

On Tuesday, a CNS News reporter stopped the high-ranking California senator at the U.S. Capitol to ask her about her abortion views. When asked if she believes that “life begins at conception,” Feinstein sounded surprised.

“Oh, my god, I can’t believe you,” she replied.

Her aide added, “That’s not an escalator question!”

After a pause, Feinstein told CNS News, “I’m not going to answer the question.”

Then, she claimed the question is irrelevant to her work as a lawmaker, adding, “I don’t think it is necessary for what I do or part of it.”

The journalist also asked Feinstein about potential presidential winner Joe Biden’s goal to end the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to fund abortions.

“Well, let me try and find out what’s going on,” she replied.

Feinstein avoided both questions, but it’s clear where she stands on unborn babies’ lives. She has a long, steady record of supporting abortion on demand and opposing conservative judges who could restore rights and protections to unborn babies. Feinstein also has made it clear that she supports taxpayer-funded abortions. Speaking about a piece of health care legislation back in 2009, she described a provision forcing taxpayers to fund abortions as “morally correct.”

The Democratic Party platform also supports abortions without limits and calls for ending the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding for abortions in Medicaid and other federal programs.

Notably, CNS News did frame its question to Feinstein in a way that may mislead readers: “Do you agree with Joe Biden that life begins at conception?” According to the report, “Biden has said in several interviews that he believes ‘life begins at conception,’ and even expressed this view in the Oct. 11, 2012 vice presidential debate.”

But if he believes it, he does not act like it. Like Feinstein, Biden supports abortions without limits and wants to force taxpayers to pay for them. In recent years, Biden and many other Democrat leaders have abandoned moderate positions on abortion and embraced the radical pro-abortion goals of the billion-dollar abortion industry. Biden’s flip-flop on the Hyde Amendment is one example.

Though Biden claims to be a devout Catholic and the Catholic Church teaches that life begins at conception and abortion is evil, Biden does not follow his faith. In April, he described the killing of unborn babies in abortions an “essential medical service” during the coronavirus pandemic.

His health care plan would expand abortions by forcing insurance companies to cover abortions as “essential” health care under Obamacare. He also promised to undo all of Trump’s progress for life, including restoring funding to the billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood.
