Joe Biden Will Name Xavier Becerra HHS Secretary if He Wins, He’s Trying to Put Pro-Life People in Prison

Joe Biden says he will name radical abortion activist Xavier Becerra as his Health and Human Services Secretary should he defeat President Donald Trump in the presidential election. Becerra is more than just an ardent supporter of abortion — he is actively trying to put David Daldein and Sandra Merritt in prison for exposing the Planned Parenthood abortion businesses sale of body parts from aborted babies.

Though Becerra, like Biden, claims to be Catholic, his record involving the lives of unborn babies and those who work to protect them is terrible.

Currently, Becerra is prosecuting David Daleiden, the Center for Medical Progress journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade. Daleiden’s powerful exposé led to the shutdown of two companies that sold aborted baby body parts in California.

However, Becerra is pursuing multiple felony charges against him and fellow investigator Sandra Merritt. If convicted, the pro-life leaders could be sent to jail on charges of eavesdropping, falsifying documents and recording people without their consent.

With Biden naming the California Attorney General as his HHS nominee if he wins, leading pro-life groups are already preparing to oppose him if Biden becomes president and makes the nomination official. The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List told LifeNews.com the nomination is a nonstarter.

“Far from ‘uniting’ the country, Biden has proven yet again he is an extremist on abortion,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Becerra is aggressively pro-abortion and a foe of free speech. As attorney general of California, he continued what his predecessor Kamala Harris started by persecuting citizen journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s role in baby parts trafficking. Not only that, he went all the way to the Supreme Court to try to force California’s pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise and refer for abortion – a policy the Court rejected as unconstitutional. In Congress, he even voted in favor of partial-birth abortion.”

“This pick underscores the importance of winning in Georgia to prevent pro-abortion forces from taking control of the U.S. Senate. Republican senators must stand firm and stop this unacceptable nomination from going forward,” the pro-life group added.

Becerra’s attempt to put pro-life people in jail for exposing abortion is so ridiculous it has even prompted criticism from the Los Angeles Times editorial board. The editors, who support abortion, described Becerra’s prosecution as a “disturbing overreach” that jeopardizes the freedom of the press.

Important to note, Becerra did not act alone. He followed the lead of former California Attorney General Kamala Harris. And Harris appears to have taken orders from the Planned Parenthood abortion chain when she raided undercover journalist David Daleiden’s home in 2015.

A recently uncovered document from the California Department of Justice document suggests Harris may have received specific instructions from the abortion chain about what to take when her office raided Daleiden’s home. According to The Federalist, Harris met six Planned Parenthood leaders just two weeks before the raid.

Both Harris and Becerra have accepted campaign donations from Planned Parenthood as well.

Daleiden recently filed a lawsuit accusing Harris and Becerra of using state video-recording laws as a “political weapon” to silence speech that they disagree with.

The National Catholic Register reported more about Becerra’s anti-life record in September:

Becerra, California’s attorney general, opposed a bill that would penalize doctors performing sex-selective abortions, and has received perfect ratings from Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

As California’s attorney general, Becerra defended state mandates requiring insurers to cover abortions, even after Catholic nuns complained to the civil rights office of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, and the state faced major cuts to federal HHS funds.

“California has the sovereign right to protect women’s reproductive rights,” Becerra said in February, defending the state’s abortion insurance mandate.

In 2019, he also led a lawsuit to stop President Donald Trump from defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion chain through the Title X program.

On Biden’s cabinet, Becerra would continue his anti-life politics at a national level, threatening the lives of more unborn babies and the pro-lifers who work so hard to protect them. He would direct tax dollars to abortion clinics and steer them away from pregnancy centers that help women with abortion alternatives.
