Senator Kennedy: GOP Must Keep Senate, “Do Americans Want to be Governed by People Who Celebrate Abortion?”

A Louisiana senator warned Americans that the future of the country could be in the hands of “people who celebrate abortion” if Democrats gain control of the U.S. Senate in January.

In an interview Tuesday on Fox News at Night, U.S. Sen. John Kennedy emphasized the importance of the Georgia runoff election between two pro-life Republican senators and their pro-abortion Democrat challengers, Breitbart reports.

“I’m not going to bubble wrap it …” said Kennedy, a pro-life Republican. “The election in Georgia is really a second presidential election. That’s how important it is. If the Democrats win in Georgia, the Republican Senate will lose its majority.”

He continued: “Do you really want to be governed by people who think that they can tax, spend and regulate America into prosperity? I don’t. Do most Americans really want to be governed by people who celebrate abortion? I don’t.”

Pro-abortion Democrats control the U.S. House and potentially soon the White House, should Joe Biden be confirmed the winner. The only thing stopping them is the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate, and even that is at stake.

The Georgia races between U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler and pro-abortion Democrat Raphael Warnock and U.S. Sen. David Perdue and pro-abortion Democrat Jon Ossoff will determine which party holds power of the Senate in 2021. While both Loeffler and Perdue received more votes that their Democrat challengers Nov. 3, they did not meet the 50-percent threshold required to win. That put both their races into a January run-off election.

Kennedy said Democrats will push a radical agenda that is “three gallons of crazy” if they win the Senate. Their plans include ending the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer-funded abortions, and expanding the killing of unborn babies in abortions.

“Do most Americans really want to be governed by people who think that the governed are morons, by people who don’t respect our ideas, and who think they’re better than us? I think that’s what you’re going to get if Schumer, Pelosi, Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are in charge,” Kennedy said.

Leading pro-life groups, including March for Life Action, Susan B. Anthony List and National Right to Life, are working hard to support Loeffler and Perdue, both of whom have 100-percent pro-life voting records.

Perdue, who has served since 2015, voted in favor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act. Loeffler, who took office earlier this year, also co-sponsored and voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

Their Democrat opponents, Ossoff and Warnock, support abortion on demand, and they have the backing of the billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood. Warnock, a pastor, said he believes that his pro-abortion position is “consistent” with the Bible. In August, he told podcast host Tim Bryan that the decision to abort an unborn baby should be up to a woman “and her doctor and her minister.”

If elected, Warnock and Ossoff could help Democrat leaders achieve their goal of forcing taxpayers to fund elective abortions, packing the U.S. Supreme Court with pro-abortion activist judges and forcing states to allow viable, pain-capable unborn babies to be killed in late-term abortions.

Polls consistently show that most Americans support strong limits on abortion and do not want their tax dollars to pay to kill unborn babies.
