A California priest warned Catholics about the radical pro-abortion extremes of Joe Biden and the Democratic Party on Tuesday as Americans head to the polls.

In a short video on YouTube, Father Francis Stevenson of Corpus Christi Parish in Lake Tahoe said Biden has brought “shame and horror” to the United States because of his support for abortions up to birth.

It is the mission of the Catholic Church to pass moral judgments on matters related to politics, whenever the fundamental rights of men requires it,” Stevenson said. “The Democratic Party and Joe Biden have brought shame and horror to this nation.”

He criticized Biden, who claims to be a devout Catholic, for rejecting human rights for unborn babies. Biden supports abortions “under any circumstances” and want to force taxpayers to pay for them.

They have legalized the murder of innocent babies during birth,” Stevenson said. “We are outraged. Catholics must uphold human rights, avoid sin and cannot vote for abortion candidates, cannot vote for Biden.”

Though Biden has talked about his faith often on the campaign trail, his positions on abortion and other issues contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Biden said he wants to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law and appoint Supreme Court justices who will support abortion on demand. He also said he would fight to end the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to pay for elective abortions – which could lead to 60,000 more unborn babies’ deaths to abortion each year.

Biden also said one of his first acts as president would be to restore funding to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America. He said he is committed to “the constitutional right to an abortion” and to reversing “the Trump administration and states’ all-out assault on women’s right to choose.”

Also concerning to many Catholics, Biden promised to restore an Obama-era mandate that would force the nuns with Little Sisters of the Poor and other religious employers to fund contraception, including types that may cause abortions, in their employee health insurance plans.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops does not endorse candidates or political parties. However, it is encouraging Catholic voters to make protections for unborn babies a “preeminent priority” at the voting booth.
