Two innocent lives were destroyed recently when a 14-year-old rape victim in Pakistan died with her unborn baby after she was forced into a late-term abortion.

Euro Weekly News reports the girl, identified only as Uzma, was six months pregnant with her unborn child.

According to the report, Uzma was living with her uncle and aunt, Ghulam Anwar and Sajida Bibi, of Okara, Punjab, after her parents separated. While living there, her uncle allegedly raped her repeatedly. When her uncle and aunt discovered she was pregnant, they allegedly forced her to abort her unborn baby, the report continues.

The Daily Mail reports the girl recently died in the hospital from complications after the late-term abortion. Late-term abortions are only legal in Pakistan when the mother’s life is at risk.

Afterward, the girl’s father reported the suspected abuse to authorities, and police arrested the aunt and uncle, the report states.

The report serves as a reminder of the horrors that often accompany abortions, including abuses, injuries and deaths.

Women and girls frequently are forced or coerced to abort their unborn babies by abusers. As LifeNews previously reported, one study found that 64 percent of post-abortive women said they felt pressure to have the abortion. LifeNews also has been keeping track of reports involving allegations of forced and coerced abortions, as well as abuse connected with women who refuse to abort their unborn babies.

Abortions also threaten mothers’ lives. Women die from legal, botched abortions every year across the world. The Centers for Disease Control reported 439 women died from legal abortions in the United States in its most recent annual report. However, the CDC explained that its numbers are not complete because some states do not report abortion data.
