In a video message, his first public statement since he was diagnosed with the coronavirus, President Donald Trump thanked Americans for their support.

He is heading to Walter Reed Hospital to spend a few days to rest and recuperate from the virus. The hospital has a suite of offices the president can use to conduct official business.

“I’m going to Walter Reed hospital. I think I’m doing very well, but we’re going to make sure things work out,” he states in the video. “The first lady is doing very well, so thank you very much. I appreciate it very much. I will never forget it.”
