Leading pro-life groups are praising President Donald Trump’s list that he released today of possible Supreme Court nominees and they are very excited about the kind of potential SCOTUS justices.

As LifeNews reported about this list, it includes the kind of conservative jurists pro-life groups support because they have a history of upholding pro-life legislation or following the rule of law rather than legislating from the bench.

Trump released the names of 20 additional judges that he is adding to his original list that he announced in 2016. Some of those names include Republican Sens. Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley, each of whom are strongly pro-life and have long pro-life voting records. Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who is a very strong pro-life advocate, is another name added to the list. Judge Amy Coney Barrett is still at the top of the list along with Judge Amul Thapar and pro-life Sen. Mike Lee of Utah.

“President Trump has been the best president the pro-life movement has ever had, and we are again thrilled to see his list of potential Supreme Court selections. A nation can be measured by how it protects the most vulnerable, and a Supreme Court which protects the unborn is of paramount importance,” said Christina Bennett, a leading pro-life activist. “We know that Joe Biden would select activist judges who bow to the wishes of the abortion industry.  For this and many other reasons, President Trump is the obvious choice in November.”

SIGN THE PLEDGE: I’m Voting for President Donald Trump!

Jeanne Mancini, President of March for Life, told LifeNews that this is another reason why pro-life advocates should support the president.

“One of President Trump’s greatest accomplishments has been the restoration of the judicial system through the appointment of judges who respect life and the U.S. Constitution. We anticipate that process will continue in a second term and look forward to the day that courts recognize the inherent dignity of all human life,” she said.

And Maureen Ferguson, Senior Fellow for The Catholic Association, told LifeNews that the impact of the court is significant and the list is a set of names pro-life Americans can trust.

“President Trump continues to keep his promise to transform the federal judiciary and his newest list of potential Supreme Court picks is further evidence of this. In releasing this expanded list, he brings transparency and clarity to the American voters who care about the rule of law and the defense of our constitutional rights. Most of the additions come from the pool of his extraordinary appointees to the circuit courts. Voters are left to wonder why Joe Biden won’t treat them with the same respect and release a list of his own,” Ferguson said.

Alliance Defending Freedom President Mike Farris also weighed in with comments to LifeNews: “Any judge or justice should interpret the Constitution faithfully, which means protecting the right to life and the right to peacefully speak, live, and work consistent with one’s religious beliefs. The president has promised to appoint justices committed to doing just that. ADF supports that effort.”
