Planned Parenthood Quietly Gets Rid of Margaret Sanger Award After She’s Exposed as Racist

The Planned Parenthood abortion chain appears to have quietly stopped giving out its Margaret Sanger Award as the public becomes aware of its founder’s racist beliefs.

The National Catholic Register reported about the change last week after the billion-dollar abortion group was accused of racism by hundreds of its own employees. Following the accusations, the abortion chain’s New York branch removed Sanger’s name from its abortion facility in New York City.

According to Breitbart, Planned Parenthood has not given out its Margaret Sanger Award – described as its “highest honor” – since 2015. The abortion chain began giving out the award annually in 1966, and it still lists it on its website.

Past recipients of Sanger’s namesake award include Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. The last known winner was abortionist Willie Parker in 2015. Parker recently was accused of sexual misconduct.

In 2009, when Clinton received the award, she praised Sanger’s legacy.

“I admire Margaret Sanger enormously,” Clinton said. “Her courage, her tenacity, her vision. When I think about what [Sanger] did all those years ago in Brooklyn. I am really in awe of her. And there are a lot of lessons that we can learn from her life and the cause she launched and fought for and sacrificed so greatly.”

But Sanger, who founded Planned Parenthood in New York in 1916, was a well-known eugenicist who believed certain groups of human beings were “weeds,” “reckless breeders” and “morons” who should not have children.

For years, Planned Parenthood tried to dismiss Sanger’s discriminatory beliefs when pro-life advocates exposed them. Now, with the issue of racism at the forefront in American culture, the abortion chain is beginning to admit the truth.

Writing at Breitbart, John Nolte described just how horrific Sanger’s beliefs were:

Sanger, the founder of the Planned Parenthood abortion mill, is not “problematic” because she once told an off-color joke or flew a Confederate flag. The woman was a monster, a vile racist and eugenicist who praised the Nazi’s sterilization tactics, including those suffering from “gongenital feeble-mindedness; schizophrenia, circular insanity; heredity epilepsy; hereditary chorea (Huntington’s); hereditary blindness or deafness; grave hereditary bodily deformity; and chronic alcoholism.”

Sanger’s disgusting view of black people might even make Joe Biden wince. In a 1912 essay titled “What Every Girl Should Know, ” Sanger warned: “It is said that the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets.”

Sanger helped to lead the eugenics movement, frequently promoting discrimination through her writing and speaking, including in a speech to the KKK in 1926.

In her book “Pivot of Civilization,” Sanger described certain groups of human beings as “human weeds,” “reckless breeders” and “spawning … human beings who never should have been born.”

She also wrote about getting rid of people with diseases and disabilities through sterilization and segregation, describing these “morons” as “a dead weight of human waste.” And in a 1939 letter to a friend, she wrote, “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”

Today, Sanger’s ugly beliefs live on through Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices.

Since abortion became legal nation-wide in 1973, an estimated 20 million unborn black babies have been aborted in America, many of them at Planned Parenthood. And in New York City, where Sanger started the abortion chain, city health data indicates that more African American babies are aborted in the city than are born each year.

Though Planned Parenthood is trying to distance itself publicly from Sanger’s racism, its leaders have no hesitation to say publicly that “EVERY reason to have an abortion is a valid reason,” including for sex-selection, race and disabilities like Down syndrome.

Planned Parenthood is a billion-dollar abortion chain that kills more unborn babies in abortions than any other group in the U.S. Last year, it reported more than 345,000 abortions, a record number, while providing fewer actual health care services and seeing fewer patients.
