Since 1976, the Hyde Amendment has protected American taxpayers from being forced by the federal government to pay for abortions.
Named for pro-life Congressman Henry Hyde (R-Ill.), the amendment was first passed three years after the tragic Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.
Congress has included it in every appropriations bill since. And over the last four decades, it has saved over 2 million lives.
But if Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her radical pro-choice allies who control the House of Representatives have their way, that protection ends, and YOU and I will be forced to pay for abortions through our federal tax dollars!
That threat is picking up steam. Earlier this year, every Democratic candidate for president went on record for repeal of the Hyde Amendment — including the Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who voted for it as a Senator in 1976, but flip-flopped as a candidate last year.
In the past three years we’ve made great progress working with the White House and Congress to protect the lives of unborn children, including a vote to overturn an Obama era regulation that prevented states from defunding Planned Parenthood in the federal Title X family planning program!

But suddenly, radical abortion activists are pushing harder than ever using the power of government.
In New York, the state legislature last year passed a bill allowing abortions up to the day of birth. They celebrated the “victory” with a standing ovation and by lighting up the One World Trade Center in pink light.
In Virginia, the Democrat governor — a pediatric neurologist — revealed his support for letting “unwanted” babies die, even after they take their first breaths… a literal “birth day abortion”!
In the U.S. Senate — controlled by Republicans — the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would outlaw this horrific action, was defeated by 41 Democrats (60 votes are needed to pass). And its companion bill in the House of Representatives has been blocked by Democrats over 80 times from even coming up for a vote!
All this, despite the huge majority of Americans who oppose late term abortion — including 66 percent of those who call themselves “pro-choice!”
Pro-life Americans must not be silent! You and I must take a stand NOW to preserve pro-life policies.
