How Can Joe Biden be “Decent” When He Picked a Running Mate Who Voted for Infanticide?

From Michelle Obama to comedian Stephen Colbert, the liberal refrain on Joe Biden is the same again and again. He’s decent.

“Joe is a profoundly decent man, guided by faith,” she said.

“In response to the unprecedented crises we face, we need an unprecedented response – a movement, like never before, of people who are prepared to stand up and fight for democracy and decency – and against greed, oligarchy and bigotry,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders.

After after his acceptance speech, Colbert said about Biden: “This evening, Joe Biden showed himself to be a man who is decent, compassionate, flawed but honest. And that is water in the desert.”

But Biden can’t claim to be “decent” at all when he picked a running mate who voted for abortion on demand and infanticide:

By picking Senator Harris, Joe Biden has reaffirmed his commitment to abortion on demand at any time for any reason and paid for by taxpayers. Kamala Harris is the poster child for the extreme pro-abortion position of the Democratic Party.

SIGN THE PLEDGE: We Can’t Vote for Pro-Abortion Joe Biden

“Sen. Harris supports a policy of abortion on demand at any time, any where, and under any circumstances,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Sadly, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris see the lives of precious unborn babies as expendable. Joe Biden could not have picked a more extreme pro-abortion running mate.”

Tobias added, “Sen. Harris is so extreme on abortion she opposes even the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children from abortion after 20 weeks, when they are capable of feeling excruciating pain during dismemberment or other late abortion methods.”

Earlier this year, Harris was one of the Democrats in the Senate to essentially vote for infanticide.

Senate Democrats blocked a request by Republicans to vote on a bill that would stop infanticide and provide medical care and treatment for babies who are born alive after botched abortions. The vote to stop the Democrat filibuster needed 60 votes but Democrats stopped the chamber from getting enough.

During the debate, Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska noted how pro-abortion Democrats refused to stand up and explain why they would block a vote to save babies from infanticide.

He said, “I urge my colleagues to picture a baby that’s already been born, that’s outside the womb gasping for air. That’s the only thing that today’s vote is actually about. We’re talking about babies that have already been born. Nothing in this bill touches abortion access.”

Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America added: “Planned Parenthood and abortion extremists’ death grip have once again prevailed through the Democrat party. Today they voted to turn their backs to protect babies who feel pain or are born alive from a failed abortion. It is unconscionable that Democrats stand on the side of authoritarian regimes like China and North Korea who condone the killing of unborn children until birth and leave unwanted newborns to die. Unfortunately that is where our country’s laws stand today.”
