Sarah Sanders: Biden’s Support of Killing Babies in Abortion Should “Disqualify” Him for President

Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders believes Joe Biden’s support for the killing of unborn babies in abortions should disqualify him from political office.

Speaking Monday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Sanders said the Democratic presidential candidate and his vice presidential running mate, Kamala Harris, have no compassion for babies in the womb who are slaughtered by the hundreds of thousands each year in abortions.

“You hear the Democrats and Biden falsely talk about how they have compassion and empathy for everyone except for the very most vulnerable people in our society, the unborn children,” Sanders said.

Biden, like the Democratic Party, supports abortions without restriction and wants to force taxpayers to pay for them. His proposed policies would expand abortions by codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law. Biden said he also wants to restore taxpayer funding to the billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood as well as to groups that promote and provide abortions overseas.

Unlike past Democrats, Biden has not talked about wanting to reduce abortions or make them rare. In April, he went so far as to call the killing of unborn babies in abortions an “essential medical service” during the coronavirus pandemic.

Sanders said this alone should disqualify any candidate from office.

SIGN THE PLEDGE: We Can’t Vote for Pro-Abortion Joe Biden

“The fact that they don’t stand up for them and do everything they can to protect them, I think, disqualifies them,” she said. “And any person that is pro-life should have no ability to vote for Joe Biden and the Democrats who make this part of their party platform and a pillar of what they stand for.”

Biden’s and Harris’s position on abortion is radical and out of touch with most Americans. They have shown a willingness to bow to the billion-dollar abortion industry’s demands, rather than the will of the American people. Last year, for example, Biden announced that he no longer supports the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer-funded abortions. Popular among Americans, the amendment has saved more than 2.4 million unborn babies from abortions, according to new research by Charlotte Lozier Institute.

Polls consistently show that most Americans oppose abortion on demand and taxpayer-funded abortions. A 2019 Hill-HarrisX survey found that 55% of voters said they do not think laws banning abortions after six weeks – when an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable – are too restrictive.

Gallup polls show consistent support for pro-life laws as well. In a July poll, Gallup found 55% of Americans take a pro-life position on abortion wanting all (21%) or almost all 39% abortions made illegal. The poll found just 43% of Americans take a pro-abortion position wanting all (29%) or almost all (14%) abortions legal.

A June CBS News poll found the majority of Americans oppose killing unborn babies in abortions or want more limits on abortion. The poll found just 43% of Americans think abortions should be generally available while 55% of Americans say it should either be more limited or should not be permitted altogether.

A Marist poll from January found six in 10 Americans (62%) say that if the Supreme Court revisits Roe v. Wade, it should allow states to determine restrictions (46%) or make abortion illegal (16%). Only 33% of Americans say Roe v. Wade should be interpreted to allow for legal abortion any time without restriction.

On the issue of taxpayer-funded elective abortions, Americans also strongly opposed. Recent polls from Marist and Harvard University show that a majority of Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortions.

Americans do not want more abortions. They want more protections for unborn babies and mothers, but that is not what they would get from a Biden-Harris White House.
