Bevelyn Beatty thinks the Black Lives Matter movement is lying to the black community.
A Christian and black pro-life advocate, Beatty told CBN News this week that she has been fighting back against the movement’s political narrative and promoting the truth of Jesus Christ.
Beatty is one of two pro-life advocates who was arrested May 30 on the sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Manhattan. Beatty and Edmee Chavannes were sidewalk counseling when they were accused of violating city social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus.
Later, Beatty was arrested again for trying to paint over a Black Lives Matter mural in Manhattan, according to the report.
“They don’t care about black lives, they’re liars,” she said in a video of the arrest.
She told CBN News that she felt called to cover up the mural.
“I was so tired of this black lives matter narrative … we’re going to hit it,” she said. “We’re going to fight and we’re going to stand and God is with me. And that was it.”
One of the many problems Beatty expressed about Black Lives Matter is its support of abortion.
“The number one killer of black people is abortion,” she said. “We’re killing ourselves.”

Since abortion became legal nation-wide in 1973, an estimated 20 million unborn black babies have been aborted in America. In New York City, city health data indicates that more African American babies are aborted in the city than are born each year, and research indicates that many Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are located in minority neighborhoods.
Related to abortion, Beatty said Black Lives Matter also is trying to disrupt the nuclear family, including the importance of having fathers in the home.
“Black Lives Matter is against black men because a man is truly not a man unless he’s a leader in his own family,” she said. “This is a portion of his identity because this is what God ordained from the beginning.”
Beatty, a leader with At the Well Ministries, said Americans need to turn back to Christ.
“I am a Christian, this is about Christianity, this is about Jesus,” she said. “They want Christians to shut up. They want us to bow…we’re going to be shaking it up and letting people know Jesus is Lord and the only thing that matters is Jesus.”
Beatty’s activism has drawn national attention. After her May arrest outside Planned Parenthood, she criticized New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo for pushing a political agenda during the coronavirus pandemic.
“How is abortion essential? How are stores closing and we can’t have Red Lobster and we can’t go to church or fellowship but you can still go and kill a baby?” she asked.
In the past several months, dozens of pro-life advocates have been arrested or cited while peacefully praying and reaching out to moms in need outside abortion facilities across the U.S. Many were accused of violating coronavirus health restrictions. Over the weekend, two young pro-life advocates were arrested in Washington, D.C. for writing “Black preborn lives matter” on a sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood abortion facility.
Pro-life sidewalk counselors also were arrested or fined in San Francisco, California; Greensboro, North Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Detroit, Michigan, Columbus, Ohio and Baton Rouge, Louisiana while trying to save unborn babies from abortions. Fortunately, some saw their charges dropped after filing lawsuits.
