Vice President Mike Pence: Joe Biden Supports “Late-Term Abortions Right Up to the Moment of Birth”

Vice President Mike Pence warned voters Friday that Joe Biden is a “radical,” “socialist” candidate who supports taxpayer-funded abortions and abortions up to birth.

Newsweek reports Pence exposed the pro-abortion Democrat’s increasingly “radical left” stance on abortion during a campaign event at Ripon College in Wisconsin.

He criticized Biden, who claims to be a devout Catholic, for supporting a “culture of death” that goes against his faith and most Americans’ beliefs.

“Joe Biden supports taxpayer funding of abortion, repealing the Hyde Amendment, ending a Mexico City policy that prevents federal funding from supporting abortions around the world,” Pence said. “And Joe Biden even supports late-term abortion — allowing innocent, unborn children to be aborted right up to the moment of birth.”

He said Biden, the presumed Democrat presidential nominee, has embraced a “socialist” agenda similar to that of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, according to the report.

Though Newsweek described Pence’s descriptions of Biden as “exaggerated,” they are not. Even the liberal news outlet admitted that Biden “did offer unequivocal support for abortion” in July 2019. He also flip-flopped on taxpayer-funded abortions last year under pressure from pro-abortion lobbyists.

Pence praised President Donald Trump for standing “without apology for the sanctity of human life.”

The two candidates’ positions on abortion could not be more opposite.

Biden’s position is radical and out of touch with most Americans. He supports abortions without restriction and wants to force taxpayers to pay for them. Biden even opposes religious freedom for the Little Sisters of the Poor, a Catholic nuns’ charity that serves the poor and elderly.

Biden promised to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law and to restore funding to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America. Because of Roe v. Wade, the United States is one of only seven countries in the world that allows elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Unlike past Democrats, Biden has not talked about wanting to reduce abortions or make them rare. In April, he went so far as to call the killing of unborn babies in abortions an “essential medical service” during the coronavirus pandemic.

Most voters strongly oppose abortion on demand and taxpayer-funded abortions. Polls consistently find strong opposition to taxpayer-funded abortions among voters, and a recently poll by Marist University found an overwhelming majority of Americans support restrictions on abortion.

Meanwhile, Trump has enacted pro-life and religious freedom policies that Americans support. He defunded the Planned Parenthood abortion chain of at least $160 million, and his two U.S. Supreme Court picks ruled in favor of a pro-life Louisiana law in June.

Internationally, Trump has been pushing back aggressively against the United Nations’ pro-abortion agenda and insisting that countries support women and children, born and unborn. Starting in 2017, Trump stopped giving American tax dollars to the United Nations Population Fund because of its link to forced and coerced abortions in China.

Last year, the Trump administration came to the aid of a Vermont nurse after she said her employer, the University of Vermont Medical Center, tricked her into participating in an abortion against her will by telling her it was a miscarriage. Trump also created a new regulation to enforce conscience protections by punishing medical groups that discriminate against pro-life medical workers. However, pro-abortion groups are suing to block it.
