All across the world, unborn babies are treated as disposable, worthless human beings.

Recently in Malaysia, a woman pleaded guilty to illegally aborting her unborn baby and then dumping the baby’s body in a sewer.

The Bernama news agency reports Norfatihen Salleh, 22, of Taman Perkota, Malaysia, was sentenced to six months in jail Thursday for her responsibility in her baby’s death.

Salleh gave birth to her baby prematurely on June 7 after taking abortion drugs, according to the report. It is not clear how premature her baby was or if her child was alive when he/she was born. The report states her boyfriend, Muhammad Faiz Zakariyah, 25, took the baby’s body and threw it into a sewage hole at a house in Kampung Kandang.

He also pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to 12 months in jail on June 26, according to the report.

A heartbreaking reminder about the prevalence of abortion, statistics compiled by Worldometers indicate that there were at least 42.3 million abortions world-wide in 2019. The independent site collects data from governments and other reputable organizations and then reports the data, along with estimates and projections, based on those numbers.

Each of those 42.3 million abortions represents a unique, living human being, a child whose life deserved to be protected and valued.
