President Donald Trump is within one point of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the crucial swing state of Michigan, a new poll suggests.
A poll conducted by the Republican-leaning Trafalgar Group and obtained by the Daily Caller on Monday found that 46.2% of likely 2020 general election voters in Michigan support Biden, compared to 45.3% who support Trump. Roughly 4.5% of respondents said they would cast their ballot for a third party candidate, while 4% of likely voters said they were undecided. Trafalgar Group surveyed 1101 respondents, and the poll has a margin of error of 2.95%.
The poll is not in line with other recent polls that show Biden with a comfortable lead in the state. A poll conducted by Michigan polling firm EPIC-MRA, and published earlier in June found the former vice president leading Trump by 16% in the state. Biden currently leads Trump by 8% in the state, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling average. Trump narrowly won Michigan in 2016, becoming the first Republican nominee to win the state since former President George H.W. Bush in 1988.

The Trafalgar Group rose to prominence during the 2016 presidential election after being the only pollster to correctly predict Trump’s victories in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The group was also the only polling service that correctly predicted the 2018 election victories of Florida Republicans Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott, according to RealClearPolitics.
The Trafalgar Group also released a poll exclusively to the Caller on election night 2016 showing Trump with a slight lead over his opponent at the time, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
