Canada Has Banned Every Other Elective Surgery, But People Can Still Kill Babies in Abortions

Non-essential medical care, with the exception of abortions, is being postponed across Canada as hospitals deal with the coronavirus outbreak.

Though there is nothing essential about aborting an unborn baby, Canadian provinces and a number of American states are allowing elective abortions to continue during the crisis.

CTV News reports health leaders in all of the Canadian provinces and territories recently declared abortions to be “an essential service.” In Canada, elective abortions are allowed for any reason up to birth.

According to the report, every province and territory gets to make decisions about what health services will be postponed or canceled. The news outlet contacted health officials in each area to ask if abortions are included in their restrictions during the coronavirus. All of them said no.

Kerry Williamson, a spokesperson for Alberta Health Services, claimed abortions are “urgent/emergent” and therefore necessary.

“With regards to surgical abortions performed in AHS hospitals, these are not considered elective surgeries,” Williamson said.

In Quebec, Health Minister Danielle McCann admitted that abortions are a woman’s choice, but the province has no plans to restrict them during the health crisis.

Health leaders in other parts of the country said much the same thing.

Rejoicing at the news, Newfoundland and Labrador abortion clinic owner Rolanda Ryan claimed abortions are “medically necessary,” despite studies showing otherwise.

“The people leading us here in the province absolutely see it as an essential service, because it’s time sensitive and it’s medical necessary,” Ryan said. “People who want an abortion will put their lives on the line to get one, and you want to make sure that if it’s being done, it’s being done safely.”

But even abortion activists admit that more women choose life for their babies when there are abortion restrictions in place. Women understand the very serious risks of a self-induced abortion and choose not to put themselves in such jeopardy.

Meanwhile, abortion activists themselves are now openly promoting dangerous self-induced abortions – though they once claimed to want to protect women from them.

Abortions kill unborn babies and put mothers’ lives at risk. Common abortion complications include infections, blood clots, hemorrhaging and an incomplete abortion where parts of the baby remain inside the mother’s womb. Abortion risks include future preterm births, breast cancer, suicide, anxiety/depression, and death. And it is not true that abortions are safer than childbirth.

Recently, medical groups representing more than 30,000 doctors in America emphasized that abortions are not “essential” or “urgent,” and abortion facilities that continue to operate during the pandemic are being “medically irresponsible.”

Although the situation is fluid, here are the latest reports from LifeNews.com on the status of abortion and orders to stop non-essential medical services in the U.S.:
