Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard today ended her bid for the Democrat nomination for president. Though she was unable to get much traction or delegates, she nevertheless garnered enough attention and support to make a couple of Democrat debates.
Considered less left-wing than Bernie Sanders, it’s no surprise that, after dropping out today, Gabbard has endorsed pro-abortion Jo Biden — who will almost undoubtedly become the Democrat nominee against President Donald Trump. While Trump enjoys support form pro-life groups after building a strong pro-life presidential record, Biden supports abortions up to birth.
“After Tuesday’s election, it is clear that Democratic Primary voters have chosen Vice President Joe Biden to be the person who will take on President Trump in the general election,” Gabbard said Thursday. “Today, I’m suspending my presidential campaign and offering my full support to Vice President Joe Biden in his quest to bring our country together.”
She indicated that the coronavirus pandemic contributed to her decision to end her campaign, though previously she said she would campaign up to the convention.
“The best way I can be of service at this time is to continue to work for the health and well-being of the people of Hawaii and our country in Congress and to stand ready to serve in uniform should the Hawaii National Guard be activated,” Gabbard said.
Like every other Democrat in the race, Gabbard would allow abortions of the birth, saying that women should have that right and the government has no role to play in protecting the life of unborn children.
And in endorsing Biden, she has endorsed a radical abortion activist. At a time when Americans want their government to provide legitimate health care in the face of the coronavirus, Joe Biden renewed his pledge to force Americans to fund abortions with their tax dollars.

Last May, Biden first made it clear that he would force Americans to fund abortions:
“It can’t stay,” Biden said of the Hyde amendment during an exchange with an ACLU activist earlier this month. The video of the exchange was posted by the ACLU on Twitter on May 8th but has drawn little attention since then (it was flagged by Washington Post reporter David Weigel on Sunday evening).
The radical position forcing Americans to fund abortions may put Biden in good stead with liberals voting in Democrat primaries for president. But it will ostracize him even further with everday Americans who oppose abortion funding.
A January poll conducted by Marist University finds an overwhelming majority of Americans support restrictions on abortion and would like Roe v. Wade reinterpreted to allow restrictions on abortions. It also found that three-quarters (75 percent) of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion abroad, fewer than two in 10 (19 percent) support such funding. Opposition to this funding includes most Republicans (94 percent) and independents (80 percent) and a majority of Democrats (56 percent).
By a double-digit margin, a majority of all Americans oppose any taxpayer funding of abortion (54 percent to 39 percent).
Biden has a strong pro-abortion voting record that goes back for many years, and he supported President Barack Obama’s leadership as the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. What’s more, pro-abortion movement leaders say they “trust” Biden to protect abortion on demand. As the vice president, he supported the administration’s pro-abortion policies, including Obamacare, which forced religious employers to pay for drugs that may cause abortions.
From 2001 to 2008, Biden’s voting record on pro-life issues was close to zero, according to the National Right to Life Committee. In 2005, for example, he voted against the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits funding to overseas groups that promote and/or perform abortions. He also voted repeatedly to require that military service members’ abortions be covered by taxpayer dollars.

Even the New York Times admitted that Biden has evolved from a Catholic who had at least a modicum of common sense on abortion to a full-fledged abortion activist:
Mr. Biden entered the Senate in 1973 as a 30-year-old practicing Catholic who soon concluded that the Supreme Court went “too far” on abortion rights in the Roe case. He told an interviewer the following year that a woman shouldn’t have the “sole right to say what should happen to her body.” By the time he left the vice president’s mansion in early 2017, he was a 74-year-old who argued a far different view: that government doesn’t have “a right to tell other people that women, they can’t control their body,” as he put it in 2012.
Kate Michelman, a former leader of NARAL, is not worried.
“Joe Biden continued his evolution on the issue under Obama. He got there,” she told the newspaper. “I can’t say for absolute, 100 percent, but I would trust him as president to protect and defend a women’s right to choose.”
To show how far Biden has come toward the pro-abortion view, he once likened an abortion to an operation — as if taking the life of a baby before birth is somehow beneficial in the same manner as a patient’s operation.
Meanwhile, Biden’s own health care proposal he released last year is further evidence of his pro-abortion extremism. As Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List explains:
But where even Mr. Obama paid lip service to appeasing pro-life Democrats, Mr. Biden now explicitly promises to “protect the constitutional right to an abortion” by repealing the Hyde Amendment and forcing taxpayers to fund the destruction of 60,000 innocent unborn children each year, turning the spigot of taxpayer funding back on for abortion giant Planned Parenthood, and restarting the exportation of abortion around the globe on taxpayers’ dime that President Trump and his administration took immediate action to stop from the very beginning of his presidency.
One eerie passage faults Mr. Trump for “allow[ing] health care providers and insurance companies to discriminate based on a patient’s gender identity or abortion history” — code that Mr. Biden, who used to vote for conscience protections, will be coming after health care workers who went into their profession thinking they were called to save life, not end it, to heal and not destroy.
The most alarming and aggressive part is Mr. Biden’s pledge to weaponize the Justice Department against states to strike down popular pro-life laws — like health and safety standards for abortion facilities, waiting periods, and parental involvement laws — and stop them from passing new ones. State legislatures enacted nearly 60 pro-life laws in the first half of this year alone. Justice Department interference would be challenging, to say the least.
Those dozens of pro-life state laws Mr. Biden wants the Justice Department to police are the clearest expression yet of the will of the voters and their representatives. The people have already been disenfranchised enough by Roe’s nationwide imposition of abortion on demand, which settled nothing and hopefully the U.S. Supreme Court will soon reconsider. Requiring them to get yet another permission from on high to protect the unborn and run their own affairs would be outrageous.
Mr. Biden may not want to do away with private insurance — yet — but that doesn’t make him “Bernie Lite.” On abortion, he is as much an extremist as every other Democrat in this race.
In 2007, Biden made his approach on abortion crystal clear, indicating he would vote to defend and expand abortions at all times: “I will not vote to curtail a woman’s right to choose abortion.”
