Planned Parenthood Refuses to Close Because It Considers Killing Babies in Abortions “Essential” Services

While much of the world is focused on saving people from the deadly coronavirus, Planned Parenthood is still committed to destroying unborn babies’ lives through abortions.

Many states have shut down schools, banned large gatherings and urged non-essential businesses to close. In Maine, for example, Gov. Janet Mills announced Wednesday that restaurants and bars must close or provide only take-out services, and social gatherings of more than 10 people are banned, the Bangor Daily News reports. Mills also encouraged non-essential businesses, including malls, gyms and theaters, to close to help stop the spread of the virus.

Amid the growing shut-downs, Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses are trying to insist that what they do is “essential.”

Breitbart reports the Maine Family Planning group recently spread the word that its 18 facilities, including Planned Parenthoods, will continue to do abortions during the coronavirus pandemic.

“At this time, all 18 Maine Family Planning clinics continue to provide essential sexual and reproductive health services to patients during the #COVID19 pandemic,” the group wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “You can still get birth control and abortion care at all Maine Family Planning sites.”

Here’s more from the report:

[Evelyn Kieltyka, vice president of program services at Maine Family Planning] stated the organization is expanding its telehealth services to allow patients to complete forms online in order to spend as little time at a clinic.

“As the novel coronavirus COVID-19 impacts health care facilities across the region, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is taking precautions and continuing to provide care at its 21 health centers in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont,” the organization said in a statement, according to WABI News.

Though nearly all abortions are elective and concerns about a lack of medical resources are growing, the National Abortion Federation, which oversees abortion facilities across America, also has been insisting that abortions are an essential part of health care.

“As we navigate COVID-19, it is critical that leaders treat outpatient abortion providers as essential businesses, and that hospital systems ensure the continuation of abortion care as an essential service,” NAF wrote on Twitter.

Claim what they will, abortions are not “essential.” Women’s lives and health will not be at greater risk if they do not get abortions during the outbreak. Going to an abortion facility actually could increase their risk of exposure to the virus.

Abortions are only essential in the sense that waiting too long to get one results in a newborn baby. Abortions destroy lives, they do not save them. Babies die and mothers are at greater risk of physical and psychological health problems.

As the world panics about medical resources to care for those already sick, it’s essential to be focused on saving lives, not killing the most vulnerable of all.
