Former NFL star Jack Brewer added his voice to a growing number of black Americans who are calling out the atrocity of abortion.

In an interview recently with Fox News, Brewer explained why he once voted for pro-abortion President Barack Obama but now supports President Donald Trump, according to International Family News.

“I take the high road and I’m a man of God,” Brewer told host Laura Ingraham. “I know that in this nation there have been over 20 million black babies aborted, and we’ve completely changed and went against the Bible and changed what the constitution of marriage means. I stand against that, Laura, adamantly as a believer of Jesus Christ.”

A former New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles player, he said actions by the Obama/Biden administration turned him away from the Democratic Party. He said those policies and positions hurt black families, taking “fathers out of our homes” and making things more difficult for schools in predominantly black communities.

“You can’t argue the facts, and the facts are that Donald Trump has passed more policies for black folks than any president since Lincoln,” Brewer said.

Those policies include pro-life actions to protect unborn children of all races and cultures. Though abortions hurt families from all walks of life, statistics indicate that abortions disproportionately harm the African American community. Census data indicates that African Americans make up about 13 percent of the U.S. population, but they have nearly 40 percent of all abortions. And New York City health statistics show that more African American babies are aborted in the city than are born each year.

Many believe the abortion industry targets black families for abortions as well. Research by Protecting Black Life found that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of minority neighborhoods.

Increasingly, black leaders are speaking up against this injustice and drawing attention to the need to protect human rights for all human beings, including babies in the womb.

Trump has been working to defund the abortion industry of taxpayer funds and increase protections for unborn babies and mothers. He has appointed pro-life judges to various courts and added religious freedom protections for pro-life individuals as well.

Brewer also is working to protect both the born and unborn. Through his charity work, he helps provide food to approximately 15,000 impoverished black children every day and helps set up hospitals across the world, according to the report.
