Pro-Life Leaders Slam Pro-Abortion Democrats for Impeaching President Trump: “Partisan Extremism”

Leading pro-life advocates are slamming Democrats, led by pro-abortion Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for voting to impeach President Donald Trump last night. They say the impeachment process is nothing more than a sham partisan vote brought by abortion advocates who just want to negate the results of the last presidential election.

While voting for impeachment, Democrats have refused 80 times to vote on legislation to save babies from infanticide.

“Democratic Party leaders’ extremism knows no bounds,” says Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser.

“Their crusade to negate the results of the 2016 election and impeach President Trump, just like their abortion radicalism, reveals just how out of step they are with the American people. Tonight’s vote will be a huge political liability for House members going into 2020,” she said shortly after the voting ended.

Dannenfelser told LifeNews.com that she expects the Senate to invalidate the results of the House vote and put the impeachment process to rest.

“As the process moves to the Senate, we are confident that Leader McConnell and Chairman Graham will treat the President with fairness and respect that was not afforded him in the House,” she said.

The pro-life advocate told LifeNews that President Trump is worthy of support from pro-life voters across the nation.

She said, “President Trump is the most effective pro-life president in the history of our nation. From stopping taxpayer funding of abortion, to protecting conscience rights, to the confirmation of over 150 outstanding federal judges, he has beyond delivered on his promises to the voters who elected him. SBA List is proud to stand with President Trump and our field team will be working through Election Day to secure his re-election.”

Jim Daly, the president of Focus on the Family, concurred with her sentiments.

“I’m deeply troubled by what’s happening in Washington D.C., including the most recent development. Today’s impeachment of President Donald J. Trump by Democrats in the House marks the continuation and deepening of a dangerous cultural and partisan divide in our country.” he said.

He, too, looked forward to the Senate making matters right: “The process now moves on to the Senate, where Majority Leader McConnell has pledged to conduct a fair and speedy trial.”

He called on Americans to pray for President trump as he endures attacks from pro-abortion Democrats.

“Please join me in praying for a just and swift resolution of this process and for protection, wisdom and strength for President Trump as well as the members of the United States Congress,” Daly said.

Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, also came to the president’s defense. He said Democrats just want to get Trump out of office because they don’t like his pro-life record.

“President Trump is not the real target — you and I and the policy gains we’ve made are. Your values and mine keep advancing in Washington, D.C. as never before with President Trump’s pro-life, pro-family, pro-religious liberty agenda,” he said. “So, liberals in Congress are moving swiftly to destroy him before he can do any more “damage” to their radical plans for America.”

Perkins added:

Liberals are enraged by President Trump’s tireless efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. The Trump administration’s “Protect Life Rule” stops Title X taxpayer dollars from going to family-planning facilities that perform or refer for abortions. Rather than comply with the rule, Planned Parenthood backed out of the family planning program altogether.

That decision cost Planned Parenthood $16,120,000 in direct Title X grants, in addition to the millions more they receive as subgrantees of Title X funds. Praise God this money is no longer funding abortion providers!

They are furious he has appointed dozens of originalist federal judges who will defend our constitutional freedoms for years — even decades — to come. In fact, President Trump has appointed one out of every FOUR federal appellate judges now serving our nation!

And perhaps most of all, they are outraged at his steadfast support of life!

President Trump’s record on pro-life values has been so strong a pro-life organization honored President Donald Trump on Sunday as a “courageous” advocate for life.

Trump has taken a number of important actions to protect unborn babies since he became president.

In one of his first acts as president, he reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits taxpayer funding to international groups that promote or provide abortions overseas. The change defunded Planned Parenthood’s international arm of about $100 million in U.S. tax dollars.

Trump also repeatedly calls out the Democratic Party’s extreme position on abortion. During his state of the union address this year, Trump slammed the governors of New York and Virginia for promoting abortion up to birth and infanticide. He also called for Congress to pass a ban on late-term abortions on babies who are capable of feeling pain.

Trump and his administration have made a number of changes to protect those who morally object to abortions, expanding conscience protections for pro-life medical workers and increasing religious exemptions for Obamacare.

His administration also intervened to stop the United Nations from supporting abortion in a resolution about sexual violence. In 2018, under his leadership, the State Department removed references to the so-called “right” to abort an unborn baby from a global human rights report as well.

This spring, the administration also finalized a new Title X rule that requires health care entities to completely separate abortion from their taxpayer-funded services. Planned Parenthood lost about $60 million in taxpayer funding through the policy change.

Trump also has appointed dozens of conservative judges to federal courts, including two to the U.S. Supreme Court.
