The frequency with which abortion is used to cover up the sexual abuse of young girls may be surprising to many who believe abortion is a woman’s “right to choose.”
But research shows strong links between abortion and abuse, and abortion facilities have been caught numerous times failing to report the suspected abuse of young girls. Studies of sex trafficking victims have found that victims frequently are pressured or forced to abort their unborn babies. And LifeNews has reported about many crime stories involving abortion and abuse.
The latest comes out of England where a mental health nurse recently was convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl and pressuring her into aborting their unborn baby to hide the abuse, according to The Mirror.
Givemore Gezi, of Devon, worked as a nurse for more than two decades at Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust in England. This fall, however, the Nursing and Midwifery Council banned him from nursing after he was convicted of sexually abusing a young girl, the report states.
Earlier this year, Gezi was sentenced to 10 years in jail for grooming the girl into a sexual relationship, starting when she was just 15, the report continues.
When the girl became pregnant, authorities said Gezi pressured her into having an abortion to hide the abuse. Authorities said the teen later attempted suicide, one of the many risks of abortion.

“You embarked on a process of grooming, which was grossly calculating, manipulative and deceitful. You lied to her about your intentions and motivation.
“I can only conclude you did it for your own personal sexual gratification and without regard for your professional standards or the damage and harm you inflicted on the victim.”
In the United States, one in six women report being abused for the first time by a partner during pregnancy, according to the Centers for Disease Control. As LifeNews previously reported, one study found that as many as 64 percent of post-abortive women say they felt pressure to have an abortion.
A 2014 study published in the medical journal PLOS Medicine found that about 25 percent of women who had abortions faced some sort of abuse before the procedure.
Violence against pregnant women and their unborn babies is disturbingly common. LifeNews has reported numerous crime stories where men allegedly murdered or attempted to murder their pregnant partners after they refused to abort their unborn babies.
In 2017, a Hawaii jury convicted a man of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend after prosecutors said he stabbed her to death for refusing to abort their unborn child.
Also in 2017, a California jury found a man guilty of first- and second-degree murder after he allegedly hired a hitman to kill his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn son after she refused to have an abortion.
Others have used sneakier methods. In 2018, a Virginia doctor was convicted of spiking his pregnant girlfriend’s drink with an abortion drug, killing their unborn baby. Dr. Sikander Imran was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to fetal homicide.
