Democrats Want to Impeach President Donald Trump Because He’s a Pro-Life Champion on Abortion

On Friday, October 25, National Right to Life published, via Twitter, the following statement:

National Right to Life strongly supports the resolution put forward by @LindseyGrahamSC asking Democrats in the House to provide @realDonaldTrump with due process of law that is to be afforded all Americans. We’ll go further, calling on Speaker Pelosi to end this kangaroo court/ fishing expedition/ impeachment farce. The real reason Dems are going after @realDonaldTrump is because he’s prolife. If he supported abortion and tax dollars for Planned Parenthood, they would leave him alone.

If you are wondering why the nation’s largest single-issue pro-life organization is getting involved in this matter, the answer is simple. Our pro-life president has been under attack since he won election in 2016, and the explanation for a large part of that assault is his unswerving pro-life position.

Donald Trump has done more for unborn children than most people could have imagined.

Let’s review just some his Administration’s actions:

The Mexico City Policy, instituted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, prevented U.S. foreign aid from going to organizations that perform or promote abortion in family planning programs. This policy has been adopted by each Republican president since and rescinded by each Democratic president.

President Trump not only restored the policy but also substantially expanded it to cover programs

dealing with HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and malaria, and including some programs operated by the Defense Department.

The family planning programs previously covered were funded in the range of $500-600 million annually. Funding for programs covered by the “Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance” is about $9 billion annually, according to the State Department.

The Trump administration is enforcing congressional language to make sure that Title X family planning funds are not used to perform or promote abortion. Planned Parenthood opted out rather than accept these restrictions.

Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.

President Trump kept a promise to protect the conscience rights of individuals and health care entities.

The HHS office for Civil Rights is enforcing federal laws to protect “providers, individuals, and other health care entities from having to provide, participate in, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for, services such as abortion, sterilization, or assisted suicide.”

When Obamacare was enacted in 2010, the law required qualified health plan issuers to segregate collected premiums to pay for abortion coverage and that enrollees be informed if abortions are covered by a qualified health plan. Unlike the Obama administration, the Trump administration is taking steps to enforce these requirements.

At the congressional level, President Trump has stood firm, issuing a “Statement of Administration Policy” on various pieces of legislation, informing members of Congress of the likelihood of the president signing or vetoing such legislation. Several statements have been issued, saying the President’s advisors would recommend that he sign various pieces of pro-life legislation and veto legislation that promotes abortion.

Democrats in Congress support the party platform, which calls for unlimited abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy. They even oppose the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children who survive an abortion. Under the heavy influence of groups such as Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and EMILY’s List, Democrats are angry that President Trump is immovable when it comes to protecting unborn children.

And even more critical, they are livid at his success in filling federal court vacancies. One of President Trump’s strongest campaign promises was to appoint federal judges “who will uphold the Constitution.” Working closely with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, he has been faithfully accomplishing that pledge, with 150 new federal judges having been confirmed.

For many years, pro-life people would work with legislators to enact pro-life legislation widely supported by the public. Unfortunately, the abortion industry had easy access to courts that would overturn or enjoin the pro-life laws. Abortion advocates are rightly concerned that their easy route to overturning pro-life laws is being jeopardized.

There are many reasons why the Democrats in Congress want to remove President Trump but, make no mistake, abortion is a huge part of the package. If the president was willing to fund Planned Parenthood, or if he wasn’t exposing their radical pro-abortion position in public rallies, and especially if he would nominate the judges they want, they wouldn’t be so determined to remove him from office.

This pro-life organization supports our amazing pro-life president and National Right to Life has endorsed him for re-election.
