New “Abortion Out Loud” Campaign Encourages Women to Celebrate Killing Their Babies in Abortions

A new pro-abortion campaign kicked off Wednesday to urge young people to celebrate the legalized killing of unborn babies in abortions.

The “Abortion Out Loud” campaign from Advocates for Youth is really just a re-branding of its old 1 in 3 Campaign, based on the debunked statistic that one in three women will have an abortion in her lifetime.

MS Magazine reports the re-launched abortion campaign aims to “smash” the “stigma” about aborting unborn babies. Through story-telling events at about 100 college campuses across the U.S., the campaign hopes to convince students that they should fight to keep abortion on demand legal and unrestricted.

“We are trying to shift the culture on campus to one that is understanding that abortions are health care,” said Bex Whitehead, a student at Orange Coast College, in a statement.

New this time around, the campaign also is pushing something that abortion activists used to warn against: self-induced abortions.

According to the report:

In the Rio Grande Valley, that conversation needs to include self-managed abortion—so the speak-out will, too. “We need to be talking about these issues, especially when our political climate can affect our choices,” Veronika Granado a University of Texas Rio Grande Valley sophomore, said in a statement. “People fear being detained and might self-manage their abortion, and should be able to do that without being criminalized. It’s important that people are aware about these things so that they don’t spread misinformation and continue to have stigma turn into policy.”

Though dangerous for the mother as well as her unborn baby, self-induced abortions increasingly are being promoted by abortion activists as an acceptable alternative to an in-clinic abortion.

Debra Hauser, president of Advocates for Youth, portrayed the campaign as a fight for young people’s empowerment. She praised student abortion activists in California who lobbied for a bill to force colleges to provide abortions on campus. Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the law earlier this month, and abortion activists plan to push other states to follow.

“The young people who are part of the Abortion Out Loud campaign are dedicated to ensuring youth are not left behind as attacks on abortion access intensify,” Hauser said in a statement. “They won’t remain silent as our abortion access is stripped away—and they’re not afraid to say ‘Abortion out Loud.’”

The campaign is right about one thing. Young people are the ones most affected by abortion. An abortion destroys the life of a baby in the womb — a living, unique human being with his/her own DNA and, almost always, a heartbeat.

Young women in their 20s are the age group most likely to have abortions, often because they feel there is no support for them and their child. The new California law, for example, mandates abortions on every public college campus in the state, even though abortion facilities are only an average of 5 miles away. However, the law does not provide any support for students who choose life for their babies, such as prenatal care, parenting classes, babysitting, changing tables or family housing.

Pro-life advocates are the ones empowering young women to choose life for their babies. Students for Life clubs, pregnancy centers and other pro-life outreaches provide information and support so that young mothers know that they are not alone, they do not have to parent alone, and their baby’s life is worth protecting.
