Abortion activists will do anything they can to attempt to dehumanize unborn babies, including manipulating the language of the abortion debate.

Recently, New York Times contributor Jennifer Gunter, a radical abortion activist and OBGYN, asserted that unborn babies are just fetuses, not children, PJ Media reports.

“A fetus is not a baby. A fetus is not an unborn or a preborn baby or child,” Gunter wrote on Twitter.

“If your goal is to legislate medical care you have to use medical terminology. I will f—ing call you out each and every time,” she continued. “And unborn baby is a zombie baby. The undead have unborn babies.”

Gunter is the same doctor who claims, contrary the greater medical community, that an unborn baby’s heartbeat is just “fetal pole” activity at six weeks of pregnancy and should be described as such.

Her most recent attempt at manipulation quickly was smacked down by Ben Shapiro. The conservative commentator simply pointed to the Dictionary to prove Gunter wrong. It defines fetus as “an unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception.”

Unborn babies are valuable human beings, no matter what term is used to describe them, but language also is important. It helps inform a debate and draw people’s attention to what is important. The term unborn baby or preborn baby indicates that there is a living, growing human being in the mother’s womb, not a blob of cells or tissue, but a distinct creature – the woman’s own offspring. The term denotes the value, significance of that yet unseen life.

And that is the real reason why Gunter and abortion activists like her prefer fetus or embryo to unborn child, because they want to create a distinction between the human beings who are valuable and those who, in their eyes, it’s perfectly ok to kill.
