Woman Defends Using Abortion as Birth Control, Calls Killing Her Baby “Removing Cells”

Abortion activists no longer describe abortions as tragedies that should be prevented. Instead, they openly advocate for the killing of unborn babies for any reason and celebrate their “right” to end their babies’ lives.

The Star in Canada recently published the stories of several women who insisted that their abortions were good for them.

One, Alicia Robbins, of Toronto, had an abortion 10 years ago when her birth control failed.

“I was 20 and in college, and I had just moved into my first house with roommates,” Robbins said. “I was using the pill and condoms, but they both failed — the condom broke, and I didn’t know that the pill isn’t always 100 per cent effective.”

She said she was going to school and working part time when she began to feel morning sickness. A test at her doctor’s office confirmed what she feared to be true: She was pregnant.

“I was terrified at the result but knew immediately what I was going to do,” Robbins said.

She asked for a referral for an abortion, and her doctor gave her one. First, however, she said she had to get an ultrasound.

“The ultrasound tech happily asked if I wanted to ‘see the baby.’ I said no,” she remembered. “She then asked if I was terminating the pregnancy; I said yes. She tsk-ed at me and didn’t speak to me for the rest of the appointment.”

Though Robbins was pregnant with a baby, not a blob of cells, she continued to deny her baby’s existence. At the abortion facility, she said she met with a counselor to talk about the abortion and answer any questions she had.

“She was thorough without being judgmental,” Robbins said. “She showed me samples of cells that had been removed and were kept in jars in the office.”

Those “samples of cells” were dead unborn babies, though abortion clinics often disguise the truth about fetal development to women considering abortions. Robbins never said how far along she was in her pregnancy, but even if she was only six weeks, her unborn baby already had a beating heart. Her baby was a living, unique human being with his or her own separate DNA. By eight weeks of pregnancy, about when most abortions take place, an unborn baby’s nose, eyes and fingers are developing, according to the Mayo Clinic. But many women and abortion facilities deny the science of fetal development when they defend abortion.

Robbins said she is “glad” that she had the abortion.

“The procedure itself was fairly quick, and I’ve never regretted it,” she said. “The most challenging thing for me was knowing that birth control can fail. That someone completely unprepared and unwilling to have a child can end up pregnant, and that there are people who’d like to try to force an unwanted pregnancy on me.

“Even though I was doing everything ‘right,’ it was not a guarantee. The father wasn’t particularly interested in being involved in the process after I told him of my intentions, and, to be honest, I’m glad. I did what was right for me,” Robbins said.

Pro-life advocates are not trying to force anything on anyone. Their goal is to keep unborn babies from being killed in abortions. Abortion is violence, and violence against an innocent human being, especially a child in a parent’s care, is wrong.
