Here’s Why Democrats Refuse to Take a Stance Against Infanticide

A New York Times bestseller is shedding additional light on the bizarre refusal of Democratic public officials to combat infanticide.

Radicals, Resistance, and Revenge by cable news commentator Judge Jeanine Pirro devotes an entire chapter to what she describes as “The Radicals’ Attack on Life Itself.”

Calling the legalization of infanticide “the worst cultural shift our country has ever witnessed,” Pirro discusses in-depth the killing of full-term babies following “botched” abortions.

Pirro’s writing is significant for a number of reasons. For one, she has a large audience, so her words carry a great deal of weight. For another, she previously ran as a “pro-choice” candidate, so her decision to zero in on a culture of life issue is intriguing.

Pirro revives discussion of a Virginia bill—eventually defeated in subcommittee—which would have permitted abortions during the process of a mother’s labor. She recalls the haunting words of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who, when asked about the bill, coldly stated:

“If a mother’s in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physician and the mother.”

A “discussion”? What about critical health care for the baby? The Governor’s chilling words show how far the pro-abortion agenda has gone—to the point of unapologetic infanticide. (Pirro points out that the Governor pocketed nearly two million dollars from the political arm of the nation’s largest abortion operation, Planned Parenthood).

As Pirro notes, “I’ve prosecuted infanticide cases in my home state of New York where infants are killed intentionally. It’s a homicide, folks, not an abortion. It’s about the child’s death and not the mother’s reproductive health.”

Pirro also brings up the alarming undercover videos taken by the Center for Medical Progress showing Planned Parenthood officials blithely discussing the harvesting of baby body parts and what they would cost the (pretend) purchaser. The author writes, “what we saw on those videos was an accurate depiction of what was going on inside Planned Parenthood.”

The march of states such as New York toward infanticide (its 2019 “Reproductive Health Act” repealed protection for born-alive infants who survive an abortion attempt) shows how the extreme nature of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling known as Roe v. Wade has made the unthinkable common place. “Fourth trimester” abortions becoming a reality.

This is why it is not enough for us to simply work valiantly to reduce abortions. For the sake of our society and our posterity, Roe must go.
