Abortions are neither compassionate nor safe for the mother or her unborn baby.
In Malaysia, a woman allegedly suffered serious complications Sept. 8 after taking 20 abortion pills to abort her unborn baby, Asia One reports.
The woman reportedly was about six months pregnant at the time, meaning her unborn child likely was viable outside the womb. According to the report, she was about 20 years old and staying in a hotel room in Kudat when she swallowed the abortion drugs and inserted more into her vagina.
According to the report, she delivered her baby in the hotel room about a day after taking the drugs; it is not clear if the baby was alive at the time. However, the report states the baby later was pronounced dead at the Kudat Hospital.

Soon after the delivery, she allegedly began suffering complications and called for help; the hotel staff heard her and called authorities, the report continues.
Local police said the woman is in stable condition at the hospital, and they are investigating the situation.
It is not clear if what she did was illegal or how she obtained the abortion drugs. Malaysia allows abortions in limited circumstances, including when a doctor believes there are risks to the mother’s physical or mental health.
No matter how they are performed, if they are legal or what the circumstances, abortions are inherently and intentionally dangerous. The purpose of an abortion is to kill an unborn baby, a unique, living human being from the moment of conception. Abortions can harm the mother’s life and health as well.
This is why pro-life advocates strive to provide information about abortion risks and alternatives. Pro-life organizations across the world offer material resources to families in need, too. The goal of the pro-life movement is not just to make abortions illegal, but to make them unthinkable so that no mother or unborn child has to suffer.
