A sickening new report out of India alleges that a father raped his young daughter and then forced her to abort her late-term unborn baby after she became pregnant from the abuse.

One India reports police arrested the man Saturday in Rajasthan, India, after learning of the alleged sexual abuse.

“Case was registered in Oct 2018 under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. After investigation, we found that minor girl was raped by her father. Accused arrested,” the police report states.

According to the report, the man allegedly forced his daughter to have an illegal, back-alley abortion at 28 weeks of pregnancy because he wanted to hide the abuse. Abortions are illegal after 20 weeks of pregnancy in India, unless the woman petitions the court for an exception.

Here’s more from the report:

The minor’s 28-week-old foetus was illegally aborted after a non-governmental organisation reported the rape to Ajmer’s district legal service authority even as her family spread rumours that the girl was possessed to save the accused. The DLSA sent a complaint in this regard to the concerned police station for action. But no action was taken then as the girl’s family refused to register an [report] citing the girl’s mental health.

Local authorities then launched an investigation into the incident, culminating in the arrest and charges against the girl’s father, the report states.

Reports indicated that the girl was a minor, but her age was not listed.

Forced abortions are a doubly-horrific abuse that occurs across the world. Frequently, they are tied to abusive relationships. Forced abortions destroy an unborn baby’s life and often physically and emotionally damage the mother’s.

As horrific as they are, forced abortions are not uncommon. As LifeNews previously reported, one study found that as many as 64 percent of post-abortive women say they felt pressure to have an abortion.

Studies of victims of sex trafficking indicate they often are pressured or forced to abort their unborn babies so they can continue working. Sexual abuse victims also sometimes are forced into abortions by abusers who want to cover up their crime.

In 2016, LifeNews reported about gruesome murder case where a North Carolina woman allegedly was murdered by her boyfriend after refusing to abort their child.

That same year, a Brooklyn, New York man was sentenced to 32 years in prison for a similar case. A jury found the man guilty of abortion, burglary and assault for beating his pregnant girlfriend and causing the death of their unborn child, LifeNews reported. In 2018, a Hawaii jury convicted another man of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend after prosecutors said he stabbed her to death for refusing to abort their unborn child.

The abortion industry also has been caught covering up the sexual abuse of teens. A 2011 undercover investigation by the pro-life group Live Action caught Planned Parenthood employees on video covering up for and coaching a man and a woman posing as sex traffickers and inquiring about how to obtain abortions for the women they victimized.

Some abortion activists claimed the videos were faked, but Planned Parenthood fired one of the staffer in question.
