Vandals recently targeted an Illinois pregnancy center that provides help to families in need, spray-painting pro-abortion rhetoric on its mobile ultrasound van and slashing the tires.

The van belongs to The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland, a pro-life organization with three centers in the Skokie area. A spokesperson for the organization told LifeNews that local police are investigating, but they have not identified any suspects yet.

The vandalism was discovered Thursday morning in a church parking lot where the van was parked. According to the organization, two tires were slashed, and the words “fake clinic” were spray-painted across the van.

The Women’s Centers uses the van to provide free ultrasounds, counseling and other support to pregnant mothers who may be considering abortion. They take it to abortion clinics in Chicago to reach women where they are.

“This vandalism proves that our ultrasound unit is effective and big abortion feels threatened. There is nothing fake about the services we provide to women,” the organization said in a statement to LifeNews.com.

A spokesperson said their offices received several suspicious prank calls within the past week, and they believe the vandalism may be linked to them. They said a pro-abortion group called Expose Fake Clinics also has been leaving false client reviews and ratings on their Yelp and Google pages.

The pro-life nonprofit thanked police for investigating, and promised to persevere in their life-saving work.

“We will not stop reaching out to women here in Chicagoland. This is an affirmation that the devil is mad about the good work we are doing here in Chicago,” the organization said, noting plans to open a fourth location this fall.

Attacks on pro-life advocates have escalated in recent years. In February, another pro-life pregnancy center was vandalize in Virginia in the midst of a heated political debate about a pro-abortion bill. In May, someone spray-painted pro-abortion graffiti on a Catholic church in Philadelphia. Then earlier this month, another mobile ultrasound van was vandalized in North Carolina.
