Woman Who Had Abortion is “Shocked” Days Later to Learn Her Baby is Still Alive

It happens so very rarely…A woman is “successfully” aborted only to find out her baby is still alive.

Now the question for a “shocked” Zhou Fengxia is whether she accepts the hospital’s offer to abort her baby a second time; continue with reported demand for “an as yet unspecified amount from the hospital as compensation, citing the psychological impact of the ordeal as well as the time it has kept her away from work”; or both.

Reporting for The Mirror, John Feng explained how the 37-year-old mother of two other children discovered her baby had not been killed and where the “error” came from.

According to Feng, a few days after the abortion, Ms. Fengxia went back to her local hospital in northwestern China after feeling discomfort “and the doctor told me my baby was still growing inside me.” Where had the abortionist gone “wrong”?

Ms. Zhou’s uterus is partitioned in two (uterine septum) which she says both the first hospital as well as the male abortionist were aware of.

“The foetus was in the left cavity, but he performed surgery on the right cavity, and the baby was left alive in my womb,” she told Feng. “Didn’t he see what exactly they removed?”

“My scans showed the foetus on the left, so why did he operate on the right?,” she asked. (Ms. Zhou said, “The hospital blamed it on their equipment.”)

According to Feng, “The hospital has yet to formally respond to the embarrassing incident.”

We can hope and pray that Ms. Zhou does not abort her baby a second time.
