A woman who recently accused President Donald Trump of sexual assault has a history of abortion advocacy.
Last week, E. Jean Carroll, a writer for Elle magazine, accused the Republican president of raping her more than 20 years ago in Manhattan, according to the Washington Post.
On Monday, Trump denied the allegations and said he never met Carroll. He said she was “totally lying” about the encounter, and she is “not my type.”
“I’ll say it with great respect: No. 1, she’s not my type. No. 2, it never happened. It never happened, OK?” Trump told The Hill.
He also asked that if anyone has information about Carroll or Elle magazine working with the Democratic Party, they should come forward.
Carroll responded to the suggestion of a political motivation in an interview with CNN, saying she is “sick of” no one believing the women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct.
“I’m barely political. I can’t name you the candidates who are running right now,” she said. “I’m not organized. … I’m just fed up.”
However, the Washington Post found evidence that Carroll has been involve politically with pro-abortion and Democratic groups.

Carroll, a registered Democrat, told The Post in an interview Friday that she voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. She donated $1,000 this cycle to Emily’s List, which supports female candidates who back abortion rights, and $500 in 2012 to President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012, according to campaign finance records. On Twitter, she has posted several sharp remarks about Trump and has retweeted satirical and critical articles about him.
Elle magazine, her employer, also promotes abortions frequently. It highlights the leaders of pro-abortion groups like NARAL and Planned Parenthood as feminist idols, and it once complained that the ultrasound image of an unborn baby on Newsweek’s cover looked “more like a baby” than an “actual pregnancy.”
In 2018, the magazine promoted a new Planned Parenthood “Tool That Will Help You Track Trump’s Harmful Policies,” including his pro-life actions. Last fall, it published another article encouraging women to break the law and have dangerous illegal abortions if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
This is the magazine that Carroll has worked for since 1993, USA Today reports. Elle brags that her column is the longest, currently-running advice column in America.
Carroll related details of the alleged assault in her new book, “What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal.” However, some are questioning her allegations after a bizarre interview Sunday on CNN with host Anderson Cooper, The Washington Examiner reports.
