A Democrat congresswoman from California was forced to withdraw her comments that she made on the House floor during a debate on a government spending bill. The abortion advocate engaged in a sexist rant where she called pro-life Republican lawmakers “sex-starved males.”
Rep. Norma Torres was responding to pro-life Republican Rep. Ross Spano after the Florida congressman complained that a Democrat spending bill weakened pro-life laws, including conscience protections protecting pro-life nurses and doctors from being forced to participate in abortions.
“It is tiring to hear from so many sex-starved males on this floor talk about a woman’s right to choose,” Torres ranted in reply.
Rep. Rob Woodall, a pro-life Georgia Republican, asked Torres to withdraw her remark, which she did — but not before falsely claiming pro-life lawmakers oppose contraception.
