Former NFL star Ben Watson slammed actress Alyssa Milano as a racist Sunday after she defended abortions for unborn black babies.

Milano has been a vocal abortion activist over the past several months, lobbying against pro-life laws in Alabama and Georgia that protect unborn babies from abortion. She led calls for Hollywood to boycott Georgia this spring after its lawmakers passed a bill banning abortions after an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable.

“I feel like any woman of privilege that lives in one of these states — if this goes through — they’re gonna be able to travel to a state to get a safe reproductive health care,” Milano told CNN last week.

“But for the women of color, for the women that are marginalized, for the women that are low-income communities, for the women that are most at-risk, this bill will be catastrophic,” she continued.

Watson, an African American and strong pro-life advocate, reacted Sunday to Milano’s claims, the Daily Wire reports.

“[For Alyssa Milano] to claim that giving MORE children of color the right to be born will negatively affect ‘women of color’ reveals IGNORANCE, RACISM or some combination of both,” Watson wrote on Twitter.

Data indicates that black women and their unborn babies will be the people most affected by the pro-life laws in Georgia and Alabama, the Daily Caller reports. In 2015, 60 percent of abortions were obtained by black women in Alabama and 66 percent in Georgia, according to data from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

“Our children and families are capable of greatness and lies like this harm our future. Don’t patronize us,” Watson continued.

Milano responded by saying she believes that abortion brings “true equality.”

“I see you and never meant harm,” she told Watson. “My hope is to stand in solidarity with all women as we fight for reproductive justice and true equality. I’ve followed you. If you’d like to discuss further, please DM me. My door & heart are always open.”

Watson thanked her and said he looked forward to having a conversation with her.

If the state laws are allowed to go into effect, they could save thousands of unborn babies’ lives every year. However, abortion advocacy groups said they will challenge the laws in court.

While abortions hurt every race and culture, black Americans have a disproportionately high number of abortions compared to other racial groups. According to census data, African Americans make up about 13 percent of the U.S. population but have about 30 percent of the abortions. African-American teenage abortion rates are more than twice as high as the national average.

Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., believes the pro-life cause is an extension of the civil rights movement. She recently praised Georgia and Alabama for granting “civil rights” to babies in the womb.

“Is the only objective overturn Roe v. Wade?” King told Breitbart News Tonight. “No. The objective is to give the babies civil rights, to protect and to help the mothers, and then to strengthen the family. That is the goal. It’s not too harsh. It’s not too much. It’s not too extreme.”
