Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar says she supports abortions up to birth. In response to a question about that and infanticide she didn’t bat an eyelash in saying that she supports and unlimited right for women to have an abortion.
During an appearance on The View on Friday, host Meghan McCain confronted Klobuchar about her party moving towards the most extreme position possible an abortion. That would be supporting unlimited abortions up to birth and even infanticide.
McCain then asked the Democratic presidential hopeful about the comments from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. He is the governor who came under fire after supporting infanticide and saying that it was okay if babies were made comfortable while their parents decided whether or not to let them die.
Klobuchar completely dodged the question and refuse to condemn Northam’s comments or distance herself in any way from abortions after birth or infanticide.
“I don’t know all his comments, but what I do know is that I am for a woman having the right to make a choice about her own body,” she said.
Klobuchar later tried to change the subject to attack Alabama and Georgia for banning abortions.
“The real cultural conversation is what they’re doing in Alabama and Georgia and in Missouri. They’re actually taking away a woman’s right to decide at all,” she added.
“I don’t think it should be that hard to say, ‘I’m not for late-term abortion in the third term,’” McCain responded. “I don’t think it should be that controversial to say.”
