Planned Parenthood allies in the U.S. House introduced a bill last week to expand the abortion chain’s sex education programs for children.

Breitbart reports U.S. Reps. Elijah Cummings, of Maryland, Barbara Lee, of California, and Brenda Lawrence, of Michigan, joined Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen to announce the legislation last week. The bills are the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act (REHYA) and the Youth Access to Sexual Health Services Act (YASHS).

Planned Parenthood already receives about a half a billion taxpayer dollars every year, though it is not clear how much of that goes to its sex education programs. If the legislation passes, the abortion chain could get even more tax dollars to push its agenda.

According to Teen Vogue:

While the text of the two bills will be released at a later date, advocates expect similar wording to previous versions of bills that were introduced in the last congress. Both bills would provide funding for comprehensive and inclusive sex ed programs through federal grant programs. The YASHS focuses primarily on expanding access to sex ed to marginalized communities, such as racial minorities and LGBTQ youth. The REHYA delineates program standards to receive sex ed funding, including ensuring that all educational material be medically accurate and based in science.

A CBS News report estimates Planned Parenthood teaches sex education to at least 221,000 students in 31 states annually.

Parents across the country have expressed serious concerns and even outrage when they learn that the largest abortion provider in America is teaching their children.

Elizabeth Johnston, who organized the Sex Ed Sit Out in 2018, told Breitbart that the abortion chain is not an appropriate teacher.

“Planned Parenthood, one of the most powerful Leftist lobbies in our nation, is known for teaching public school students how to sodomize one another, how to pleasure themselves with sex toys, and even how to participate in playing with blood and sadomasochistic sexual activity,” Johnson said.

She continued: “Could someone please explain how Planned Parenthood, an organization that profits heavily from abortion, is allowed to be in our schools teaching students about sexual activity? Doesn’t anyone see the extreme conflict of interest? The more students are sexually active and get pregnant, the more money Planned Parenthood makes.”

Wen, the new president of Planned Parenthood, has been clear that abortion is their “core mission.”

Numerous communities have rejected the abortion group as a sex education teacher. In 2017, the Massachusetts legislature voted against a bill that recommended Planned Parenthood’s middle school sex education curriculum. The program teaches children as young as 12 “how to perform oral and anal sex.”

Concerned parents in Pennsylvania, Michigan, California, Washington state, New York, North Carolina and other parts of the country also have protested Planned Parenthood’s involvement in their students’ education in the past several years.

In one recent case, parents at a Pennsylvania school said a Planned Parenthood partner group taught seventh-grade students graphic details about oral sex during a science class.

In another case reported by CBS News, North Carolina parents petitioned for Planned Parenthood to stop teaching their middle school students. They said Planned Parenthood’s “Get Real” curriculum “encourages sixth graders to feel ‘comfortable and ready’ for sex. The petition says the curriculum provides flash cards outlining proper condom usage, for ‘vaginal, oral or anal sex’ and recommends the usage of ‘non-microwavable saran wrap’ as a prophylactic for certain non-reproductive sex acts.”

In November, upset parents flooded a Florida school district with complaints after one of Planned Parenthood’s graphic sex education videos was shown to students without parents’ knowledge or consent.

Among its worst teaching points, Planned Parenthood tells children that promiscuity is not unhealthy. “There’s nothing bad or unhealthy about having a big number of sexual partners,” it tells students on its Tumbler page. Planned Parenthood’s booklet for HIV-positive youth, “Healthy, Happy and Hot,” also tells young people that it is their “human right” to not tell their partner that they have HIV.
