Planned Parenthood leader Leana Wen, who oversees more unborn babies’ abortion deaths than anyone else in the U.S., claimed President Donald Trump’s pro-life policies are causing thousands of people to die across the globe.
On Friday, Wen spoke with Democracy Now about a new Title X policy that would defund her abortion chain as well as the Mexico City policy, which cut about $100 million tax dollars from Planned Parenthood’s international arm. Both are Trump administration policies.
Title X funds help low-income women and men receive birth control, cancer screenings, STD testing and other health care services. While the tax money cannot be used to pay for abortions, it indirectly funds Planned Parenthood’s vast abortion business by about $60 million a year. The new “Protect Life” rule prohibits Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses from receiving Title X tax dollars unless they completely separate their abortion practices from their taxpayer-funded services.
However, two federal judges blocked the rule this week.
Wen blasted the Trump administration for supposedly cutting off access to health care services for low-income individuals.
“This is just one more example from the Trump-Pence administration of a discriminatory policy that would worsen health outcomes and worsen disparities for those who already face disproportionate barriers to care,” she said.
“And taking that away, we know the consequence, which is that people are going to delay getting healthcare,” Wen continued. “Cancers are going to end up getting diagnosed later. There will be increased rates of STIs and unintended pregnancies.”

She claimed Planned Parenthood would have to compromise its “ethics” to follow the policy – meaning it would have to separate its abortion business from its taxpayer-funded services and stop promoting the killing of unborn babies with tax dollars.
“And from our standpoint in Planned Parenthood, we cannot accept these gagged funds,” Wen said.
She also criticized the Mexico City policy, which prohibits taxpayer funds to international groups that promote and provide abortions.
“Abortion is a standard medical procedure that’s part of the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare. And for many people, it is lifesaving,” Wen argued.
She claimed the policy has led to thousands of deaths across the globe.
“We’ve seen what happens when people, internationally, do not have access to safe, legal abortions,” she said. “Actually one-tenth of maternal mortality globally is due to unsafe abortions. Thirty thousand women die every year around the world because they do not have access to safe, legal abortions.”
She ended the interview by calling the Trump administration hypocrites for saying they are pro-life.
“… what they are doing is worsening health outcomes and leading to more people dying in the U.S. and around the world,” she argued.
But Wen is the real hypocrite. Saving lives is not Planned Parenthood’s core mission. It’s abortion, and Wen has openly said so. As a doctor, she should know that an abortion destroys a unique, living human being inside his/her mother’s womb.
Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in America, aborting approximately 330,000 unborn babies every year. Its most recent annual report showed a record income of $1.6 billion, with about half a billion dollars coming from taxpayers.
Trump and his administration have been working to cut off various streams of funding to Planned Parenthood and other abortion groups, and sending those funds to real health care providers instead. However, many of their efforts have been blocked by activist judges appointed by pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
