Black conservative commentator David Webb slammed Democrats Wednesday for causing “cultural destruction” in the black community by pushing abortions.

Speaking on Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show, Webb said Democrats are hurting, not helping the black community, by advocating for the killing of unborn babies.

Carlson began the conversation by asking how a person who really cares about someone would encourage them to have an abortion, referring to Democrats and their courting of African American voters, according to Newsweek.

Webb, who hosts Reality Check on FOX Nation, described it as a “very dangerous level of action by the Democrat party.”

He said pushing abortion “has changed the culture in the black community where young black women are not being taught responsibility for their bodies.”

Webb continued: “It’s something very dangerous because you are destroying the culture and the future of young women and young men … because you are tearing the family unit apart, you are tearing the community apart. And you are not teaching them to grow up to be responsible people.

“It is just something that is so dangerous that we have to look at it for what it is. Cultural destruction by a bunch of liars in power,” he said.

Citing the high rate of abortions among black women, Webb said the pressure on black women to abort their own children “keeps them in poverty” and “correlates to single parent birth and poverty in this country. In medical terms, that’s an epidemic.”

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control indicate that black women have abortions at a rate five times higher than white women. Data from the New York City health department shows that more black babies are aborted in the city than born. Carlson mentioned both during his show.

“Not too many things genuinely unite the Democratic Party. One that does, though, is abortion. The party loves it, wants more of it, up until birth, maybe a little bit after, if possible,” Carlson said.

While abortions hurt every race and culture, black Americans have a disproportionately high number of abortions compared to other racial groups.

According to census data, African Americans make up about 13 percent of the U.S. population but have about 30 percent of the abortions. African-American teenage abortion rates are more than twice as high as the national average, according to research by the Guttmacher Institute.

Research by Protecting Black Life also found that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black and Latino neighborhoods.

African American pro-life leaders point to Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger’s eugenic beliefs as a possible reason for the targeting of minorities. Sanger described immigrants and minorities as “human weeds,” “reckless breeders” and “spawning … human beings who never should have been born” in her book “Pivot of Civilization.” Sanger also wrote about getting rid of people with diseases and disabilities through sterilization and segregation, describing these “morons” as “a dead weight of human waste.”
