Ancient Civilizations Sacrificed Children, But We Abort Them

Given the new efforts in New York and other states controlled by radical Democrats to expand late-term abortions and even legalize infanticide, an archeology report published earlier this month takes on new, present-day application.

What does archeology have to do with late-term abortion or infanticide?  That answer lies in the similarities of between what we are seeing in the Abortion Cartel today and what archeologists have recently discovered at the site of the largest known child sacrifice event in the world.

The disturbing archeological report detailed excavations at a Peruvian site known as Huanchaquito-Las Llamas.

Even archeologists were shocked at the scope of the site and heartbreaking skeletal remains of 137 children – little barefoot boys and girls ages 5-14 that had been sacrificed by the Chimú culture around 1450 AD.

The photos were haunting.

The remains were positioned on dried mud flats, and interspersed among 200 young llamas that were sacrificed at the same time.  Unshod footprints of the children, who were led away to their gruesome deaths by sandaled adults can still be seen in the hardened mud. Deep drag marks indicated that some of the llamas resisted what they must have sensed was their impending death.

The means by which these children were murdered is greatly disconcerting.

Many of the remains, which bore remnants of hair and skin, were still shrouded in the deteriorated vestiges of their clothing.  From that, it could be determined that many of the children’s faces had been painted with a reddish pigment made from cinnabar.  Their chests had been slashed open and their ribs spread. Archeologists believe that was done so their hearts could be removed.

The bodies of three adults found with the children bore evidence of blunt force trauma to the head.  It is possible that these adults had served as the executioners, and were, in turn, executed after the slaughter had been completed.

After all, could anyone who had engaged in that kind of butchery on innocent children ever be trusted to return to their normal lives without being changed for the worse by the experience?

What would provoke the Chimú people to engage in horrifically violent act of child sacrifice on such a massive scale?

Researchers believe that unusually heavy rains from a particularly harsh El Niño climate event had brought devastating floods to the region.  The sacrifices were thought to be an effort to halt the rains and return their weather to normal so the people could recover and prosper.

But their sacrifices did not work to restore prosperity to the Chimú.  They were conquered by the Inca just 20 years after the mass child murder at Huanchaquito-Las Llamas.

Lest you think that kind of thing cannot possibly happen today, consider the New York law that now allows abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy.  After the vote succeeded, the legislature erupted in cheering and applause. Governor Andrew Cuomo even ordered that the spire of One World Trade Center be drenched in pink light to celebrate the new opportunities to kill babies in their state.

This pathetic display was followed by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam describing how babies who survived birth during a failed abortion might be kept comfortable and perhaps even revived until such time as the mother and her abortionist might have a discussion about what would happen to the newborn baby next.

Almost simultaneously, rookie Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (ironic surname noted) introduced America to the absurd Green New Deal climate initiative then suggested that perhaps Americans should rethink bearing children given the imagined dire state of the planet.

The parallels to the reasoning behind the Chimú climate-inspired masacre, although not perfect, are astounding.

While the abortion lobby insists that late-term abortions are exceedingly rare, the Charlotte Lozier Institute has estimated that abortions after 20 weeks, or five months gestation, numbered at least 12,040 in 2014, based on figures supplied by the Center for Disease Control.

The brutal Chimú culture of ancient Peru cannot hold a candle to today’s abortionists when it comes to child-killing.

A case in point is Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell. When Operation Rescue reported the news of how he would snip the necks of babies who survived abortions, and trained his unlicensed workers to do the same, those who heard about it through the media blackout were shocked.  It is thought that Gosnell and his cohorts murdered living, breathing babies hundreds, if not thousands of times over the years.  One of Gosnell’s clinic workers, Steven Massof, who pled guilty to murdering two living newborns at Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” abortion clinic, testified to having personally witnessed the “snippings” of at least a hundred living babies who had survived abortions.

More examples abound.  According to undercover videos released in 2015 by the Center for Medical Progress, similar shocking practices as the Chimú child sacrifices occurred at some Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.

That is not an overstatement.

Dr. Ben Van Handel, Executive Director of Novogenix Laboratories, a middle-man procurement company that contracted with Planned Parenthood for aborted baby tissues and organs, admitted in one of the CMP videos, “So you know there are times when after the procedure is done that the heart is still beating.”

In that same video, Holly O’Donnell, a former procurement technician for StemExpress, describes her experiences harvesting aborted baby organs at the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in San Jose, California.  She related how after one abortion, she was called over to the lab by another StemExpress employee to look at something in the strainer.

So, then I hear her call my name. “Hey, Holly! Come over here. I want you to see something kinda cool. It’s kinda neat!” So, I’m over here and – the moment I see it I’m just flabbergasted. This is the most gestated fetus and closest thing to a “baby” that I’ve seen.

And she’s like, “Okay, I want to show you something.” So she has one of her instruments and she just taps the heart and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here, and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating and I don’t know what to think…

I knew why it was happening. It’s because of the electrical current was — the nodes were still firing, and I don’t know if that constitutes — it’s technically dead? Or it’s alive?

It had a face. It wasn’t completely torn up. And its nose was very pronounced. It had eyelids and its mouth was pronounced. And then, since the fetus was so intact, [Jessica] said, “Okay, this is a really good fetus and it looks like we can procure a lot from it. We’re going to procure a brain.”

O’Donnell then described how Jessica began the harvesting process by cutting through the lower jaw and into the face with scissors, then instructed O’Donnell to finish cutting through the face so she could extract the brain.

From her accounts, we know that babies whose hearts were still beating were cut open so their organs could be removed – just like the children who walked through mud to their grisly deaths in Peru over five centuries ago.

The murder of children isn’t confined to the distant past, nor to superstitious idolaters who sacrificed human beings for what they considered the benefit of their people.  It is still happening at abortion clinics, done by supposedly civilized and well-educated people, who try to convince the rest of us that this grisly barbarism is done for the betterment of humanity.

States like New York and abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood are setting civilization back hundreds of years to the days of child sacrifice, which has morphed into the practice of abortion. Today the brutal violence is shrouded in euphemisms such as “reproductive health.”  Abortion has nothing to do with “reproduction” and even less to do with “health.” It is all about killing a child for the mother’s convenience.

The vast majority of full-term abortions are elective. The reasons women have given for having late abortions include the stressful circumstances of unprepared pregnancy, single-motherhood, financial pressure, and relationship discord, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Operation Rescue documented eleven cases where minor girls received third-trimester abortions in Wichita, Kansas, for trivial excuses.  One 15-year old lamented that she was unable to compete as a barrel racer in an upcoming rodeo due to her advanced pregnancy.  Another teen was disappointed that her third trimester pregnancy took the fun out of playing basketball.

It’s time to face the hard truth of the matter that abortion is little different from child sacrifice, no matter how hard some attempt to obfuscate that fact.  Killing babies can never improve our culture or our lives. It couldn’t in Peru over 500 years ago and it can’t in America today.

It is no accident that the Chimú culture has disappeared from the earth, conquered by its enemies. It is a warning to us today that reaches out to us from those sandy mass graves. We must end this barbaric practice in America before our weakened culture, which has nearly forgotten how to value and protect life, goes the way of the Chimú people.
