Pro-life students rallied in the bitter cold Tuesday to expose presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar’s support of abortion and infanticide.

A pro-abortion senator from Minnesota, Klobuchar recently voted against the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Every single Democrat in the Senate who is running for president voted against protecting newborns from infanticide.

And Students for Life of America plans to expose each one of them through a series of rallies in their home states.

“People who think it’s okay to let babies die in the delivery room lack the moral strength to lead this country,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.

On Tuesday, pro-life students gathered outside Klubuchar’s office in Minnesota to call out her extremism on abortion.

Klobuchar has a 0 percent pro-life voting record, according to National Right to Life. In addition to her infanticide vote, she also voted for taxpayer funding of elective abortions and taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. She voted to fund groups overseas that perform or promote abortions, and against a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

Klobuchar also co-sponsored sweeping legislation that would have invalidated nearly all limits on abortion, at any stage of pregnancy.

Americans deserve to know that these potential leaders of our country voted against protecting babies who are born alive during an abortion, the student pro-life organization noted.

“It is a sad reflection of politics today that the Democratic Party cannot even agree that killing babies who are born alive after a failed abortion is wrong,” Hawkins said. “The baby has been born, living separately from the mother, and in need of care. Yet 44 Democratic Senators still want that child dead.”

Already, abortion activists are trying to thwart their efforts through counter-protests and harassment. At another pro-life rally Tuesday in Ohio, Students for Life leaders said they had to call the police on pro-abortion protesters for disrupting the event.

Klara McKee, a Students for Life regional coordinator and a survivor of rape, described what happened on the pro-life group’s blog:

“A group of about 35 people gathered outside of [pro-abortion Democrat] Senator Sherrod Brown’s office. During my speech, a group called Feminist Flag Corps came and started to become disruptive. The group came with 5-10 protesters who started chanting at us with profanity as well as starting to use a siren. They also were chanting things like, ‘Who’s the killer, you’re the killer, you’re the one who killed Dr. Tiller.’ We found that one of their favorite lines was, ‘Nobody is killing babies, shut the f— up pro-life crazies’ in front of children.

“By the time Mark Harrington from Created Equal was giving his speech the protesters got very close into his space and were screaming at him with a bullhorn.”

The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act narrowly failed last week, after almost every Democrat voted against it. The Senate voted 53-44 – a few votes shy of the 60 needed to end Democrats’ filibuster. Every Republican present voted to end the filibuster, along with Democrats Joe Manchin, Bob Casey and Doug Jones, while all other Democrats voted against the bill. Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who supports abortion, did not vote.
