Planned Parenthood Affiliate Ends Legitimate Healthcare, Will Continue Doing Abortions

Planned Parenthood is primarily an abortion business. It’s own annual report shows that the number of abortions remain steady even as the number of non-abortion customers it has declines.

While new Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen continues Cecile Richards’ company line of talking about so-called “health care” while ignoring its vast abortion business, one affiliate of the nation’s biggest abortion company has dropped its “health care” services and will only do abortions.

Kara Cadwallader, vice president of medical affairs and senior medical director for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands, said basic healthcare services would be discontinued because of the lack of patients asking for these services, reported Boise State Public Radio.

Cadwallader said people had access to basic healthcare services elsewhere, so Planned Parenthood will no longer treat things like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and more acute colds and flus, etc.

“But the problem was that they just didn’t have many patients. Cadwallader pointed out that most of the people they were trying serve had access to those services elsewhere,” the news report stated — acknowledging that patients don’t want to go to an abortion center for legitimate health care.

Brandi Swindell is Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare which is a life-affirming women’s health clinic located right next to the Boise Planned Parenthood clinic. She told LifeNews that the move underscores what pro-life advocates have said for years, namely that Planned Parenthood is little more than an abortion business.

“By cutting primary health services but continuing to be an abortion vendor, Planned Parenthood has revealed what they truly are. That is, an abortion business which has become the largest abortion provider in the world,” she said.

Swindell added: “Planned Parenthood likes to portray themselves as critical providers of women’s healthcare across the nation yet federally qualified community health centers — which do not provide abortions — offer more comprehensive health care services than those offered by Planned Parenthood. These health centers outnumber Planned Parenthood clinics 20 to 1. Planned Parenthood’s own annual report shows most of its real healthcare services have been in decline over the past several years. Tragically during this time, their abortion business has increased. It is important to note, the services that Stanton provides to women in the Boise area have only increased during the same time period.”

She concluded: “Planned Parenthood cutting health services in Boise only underscores the reality that they need to be defunded and the $500,000,000 of public funds that they receive annually should be given to clinics that truly service and provide quality care to women.”
