The Ivy League is making drugs that may cause abortions more easily available to students on campus.
Yale University’s student newspaper reported this week about plans to begin providing Plan B emergency contraception drugs in a vending machine on campus.
Plan B, which already is available at the campus health center, may cause early abortions in some cases, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA notes: “Plan B One-Step is believed to act as an emergency contraceptive principally by preventing ovulation or fertilization (by altering tubal transport of sperm and/or ova). In addition, it may inhibit implantation (by altering the endometrium).” Inhibiting implantation means an already-conceived unique, living human embryo may be blocked from implanting in his/her mother’s uterus, thus ending their life.
Plan B’s own packaging warns that the drug may destroy a newly conceived human being: “This product works mainly by preventing ovulation (egg release). It may also prevent fertilization of a released egg (joining of sperm and egg) or attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus (implantation).”
The Yale College Council recently approved the plan to install the Plan B vending machine in Silliman’s Good Life Center before winter break.
“The point of this is to make Plan B more accessible and to make medications in general more accessible,” said Ileana Valdez, the student council member who proposed the idea. “Hopefully this will set a precedent for more machines to show up around campus that contain other things so Yale students don’t have to go out of their way to go to CVS, especially students from the new colleges.”
Valdez said the drug will cost about the same as it would at a local pharmacy, about $50. She said the student health center also provides free emergency contraception.

The university’s pro-abortion club, Reproductive Justice Action League at Yale, also lobbied for the Plan B vending machine, according to the report.
The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles said the move is another sign of liberal’s abandonment of the old “safe, legal, rare” rhetoric.
“Just ten years ago, leftist politicians proclaimed abortion must be ‘safe, legal, and rare,’” he wrote. “That incoherent position raised two questions: If abortion is morally similar to murder, why should it be legal? If it’s a morally neutral procedure, no different than an appendectomy, why should it be rare? The cognitive dissonance has now given way to the Left’s true preference: abortion on demand. Expect more vending machines.”
A number of other colleges and universities already do sell the drugs via vending machine. Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, which appears to have been the first, received approval from the Obama administration in 2013 to begin selling Plan B in vending machines on campus.
Stanford, Pomona College, Brandeis, the University of California Davis and the University of California Santa Barbara also sell Plan B to students through vending machines, according to the report.
There is evidence that other birth control drugs and devices, including the IUD and ella, also may cause an abortion very early in pregnancy. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Women’s Health basically admitted as much on its website in 2014: If “fertilization does occur, the IUD keeps the fertilized egg from implanting in the lining of the uterus.” A fertilized egg is already a living human being with his/her own unique DNA.
