A pro-life group that tracks where corporations donate is urging pro-life shoppers this Christmas and holiday season to avoid shopping at Amazon, which it notes supports a pro-abortion organization that pushes population control on a global scale.

Today, 2ndVote, the conservative watchdog for corporate activism, which just release a guide to what stores to avoid on Black Friday, urged shoppers to specifically avoid Amazon. 2ndVote’s executive director Robert Kuykendall told The Daily Caller News Foundation about Amazon’s link to a prominent pro-abortion advocacy group.

This isn’t the first time Amazon has come under fire from pro-life advocates. Earlier this year, Amazon kicked out a leading American pro-life organization from its charitable fundraising site this week based on the recommendation of a radical liberal group.

Amazon is also on 2ndVote’s list of retailers to avoid. The company has recently received significant media attention for announcing its decision to split its second headquarters — and 50,000 jobs — between Arlington, Virginia, and Long Island City, New York, earlier in November.

“Shopping in the comfort of your own home is great, but shopping at Amazon quite frankly isn’t great,” 2ndVote said on its website. “Amazon directly funds the Population Council, an organization that targets impoverished areas for abortion.”

“Even worse, they nauseatingly market abortion as a solution to poverty,” it continued. “Amazon is a corporate champion of the left, which is why we suggest going to Overstock.com instead.”

Who is the Population Council?

The promotion of sex-selection abortion as a population control strategy, crafted in the United States by Planned Parenthood, the Population Council and others and then exported worldwide, has resulted millions of missing girls in India, China and elsewhere.

Bernard Berelson, then president of the Population Council, put forward in a 1969 article how sex selection coupled with abortion was a relatively “ethical” means to control population should it ever be necessary to go “beyond” voluntary methods of family planning.

According to Congressional testimony, Population Council also sent the head of its biomedical division, Sheldon Segal, to New Delhi to instruct Indian doctors how to determine the sex of the unborn child while publically advocating sex-selection as means to control population. He shed light on the policy decisions made by non-governmental organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the Population Council, funded by foundations such as the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, and by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and their impact on the present crisis in India and other countries such as China.

“It was development professionals who first promoted sex-selective abortion as a potential solution to what they saw as the population explosion,” said Connelly.

Population Council, with a history in the population control movement, conducts research to make abortion widespread and available without access to medical professionals, particularly targeting poor women in developing countries.

The Population Council is currently, publicly opposing the Mexico City Policy recently reinstated by President Trump. The Mexico City Policy prevents millions of taxpayer dollars from subsidizing foreign nongovernmental organizations that perform or promote abortion in other countries.
