Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is poised to become the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee following the announcement on Friday that former Chairman Chuck Grassley will be heading the Senate Committee on Finance instead. Graham established himself as something of a hero to pro-life conservatives after vigorously defending Supreme Court Justice Bret Kavanaugh.

Grassley (R-IA) is stepping down as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and graham would be in line to replace him.

Graham already has his agenda in place.

“If I’m chairman next year, we’re going to judges, judges, and more judges,” Graham told Fox News host Sean Hannity this week.

Graham had been shooting down rumors of a potential position with President Donald Trump’s administration as the Attorney General to replace former AG Jeff Sessions. He noted in October that he will be running to his current seat when he is up for re-election in 2020.

“Well, I’m going to run [for Senate] again — there ya go, you made news — I’m definitely running,” Graham told a reporter when asked about his future plans. “I enjoy my job. I think I’m better at it today than I’ve ever been. I love my job. I love representing the people of [South Carolina].”

Previously, Graham called for an investigation of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s management of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations Sunday, accusing Democrats of handling her accusations so as to inflict maximum damage on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“The FBI will do a supplemental background investigation, then I’m going to call for an investigation of what happened in this committee,” Graham told George Stephanopoulos on ABC News. “Who betrayed Dr. Ford’s trust? Who in Feinstein’s office recommended Katz as a lawyer? Why did Ms. Ford not know that the committee was willing to go to California?”

“We’re going to do a wholesale, full-scale investigation of what I think was a despicable process to deter it from happening again,” he added.

In an epic takedown during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Christine Ford and Brett Kavanaugh, the pro-life senator slammed Senate Democrats for their brutal campaign of character assassination of the nominee for the Supreme Court.

Graham delivered a fierce and intense speech against his Senate Democrats, accusing them, rightly, of trying to destroy Judge Kavanaugh’s life in order to keep a Supreme Court seat vacant and hope they win in 2020.

“If you wanted an FBI investigation you could have come to us. What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that, not me,” Graham shouted. “This is the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics and if you really wanted to know the truth, you certainly wouldn’t have done what you did to this guy.”

“Boy y’all want power, God I hope you never get it. I hope the American people can see through this sham, that you knew about it and you held it, you had no intention of protecting Dr. Ford, none!” he added. “I hate to say it because these have been my friends, but if you were looking for a fair process, you came to the wrong town at the wrong time.”
