A former Planned Parenthood abortion facility is being torn down this week in Des Moines, Iowa after it spent two decades aborting unborn babies.

The Des Moines Register reports Planned Parenthood used the Sherman Hill building from 1985 to 2007 as a “health care” facility and administrative offices.

A church later bought the property and used it for office space, according to the report. Now the Neighborhood Development Corp. owns it and plans to build a new development on the property, the report states.

Here’s more:

Neighborhood Development Corp. ordered demolition of the vacant property at 851 19th St. this week. The Des Moines-based nonprofit is working to finalize plans for the property, said Abbey Gilroy, executive director.

“We still have a long way to go,” she said. “We’re just making progress by taking it down.” …

Neighborhood Development Corp. is working with the Sherman Hill Neighborhood Association on re-development plans. Nothing is finalized, including whether a private developer purchases the 42,681-square-foot lot, Gilroy said.

No one ever may know how many unborn babies were aborted and mothers’ lives were damaged in that abortion facility. But the good news is that it now is gone, and Iowa is slowly but steadily winning the fight to protect unborn babies and mothers from the violence of abortion.

In its most recent annual report, Planned Parenthood saw huge drops in patient numbers and actual health services and scandal after scandal involving aborted baby body parts trafficking, sexual abuse cover-ups and Medicaid fraud.

At the same time, the abortion chain reaped in record profits, including billions in taxpayer funding, and maintained a corner on the American abortion market. It increased its political advocacy and attacked numerous efforts to protect unborn and born babies from abortion.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in America, aborting approximately 320,000 unborn babies every year. Its most recent annual report showed a record income of $1.46 billion, with about half a billion dollars coming from taxpayers.

In December, the U.S. Department of Justice said it is investigating whether the abortion chain illegally sold aborted baby body parts.
