Planned Parenthood President Leana Wen Calls Aborting Babies a “Basic Fundamental Human Right”

The more things change the more they stay the same.

New Planned Parenthood President Leanna Wen is no different than her predecessor Cecile Richards. Like Richards, Wen is calling abortion and killing babies in abortions a so-called basic fundamental human right.

Never mind that there’s absolutely no fundamental human right to aborting babies in the Constitution or any other founding document of the country.

The tweet was quickly rebuffed by pro-life tweeters.

Len’s is very similar to the kind of language to Cecile Richards used. She frequently refused to use the actual term abortion and instead referred to abortion as healthcare before using flowery language calling it a right or a freedom.

This not the first time Len has called killing babies in abortions a “fundamental human right.”

Wen, who took over for Cecile Richards as the leader of the billion-dollar abortion chain, is a former emergency room doctor and health commissioner of Baltimore.

While claiming abortions are only a small part of what Planned Parenthood does, Wen defended the life-destroying practice in an interview with Glamour magazine.

“Imagine if we said that we should poll people about whether vasectomies should be legal, and then we restricted access to vasectomies,” Wen said. “Or if the government imposed a gag rule, saying that doctors should follow a specific script in telling people about diabetes and insulin. It would never happen. It’s ludicrous to even think about. That’s why it’s so important for us to emphasize that reproductive health care is health care, that women’s health care is health care and that health care has to be a fundamental human right.”

The difference is that an abortion is the only medical procedure that purposefully destroys a living human being. Planned Parenthood performs about 320,000 abortions a year, each one ending the life of a unique, individual child in the womb. In most cases, that child’s heart already is beating, and he or she already has tiny fingers and toes.

Ironically, Wen claimed a child’s unnecessary death is one of the things that prompted her to do what she is doing today.

The daughter of an immigrant family from China, Wen said they moved to the United States when she was young. She said she watched her family and other immigrant families struggle to afford basic health care, and those experiences gave her a desire to become a doctor.

“As a child, I watched a neighbor’s son die in front of me because he and his parents were undocumented immigrants, and they were too afraid to call for help,” Wen said.

She said the boy died as a result of an asthma attack, a treatable condition.

But instead of dedicating her life to helping children live, Wen accepted a job overseeing the No. 1 destroyer of unborn babies’ lives in America. And she is proud of it.

True women’s health care absolutely is important, but that is not what Planned Parenthood does. Almost none of its facilities offer prenatal care or ultrasounds for anything other than abortions, and none provide mammograms. Infertility treatments and adoption services are basically nonexistent as well.

What Planned Parenthood primarily provides is abortions, as well as birth control and STD tests/treatment. It is the largest abortion group in America, averaging about 320,000 abortions a year. The U.S. Department of Justice also is investigating whether the abortion chain illegally sold aborted baby body parts.

Wen may claim she is fighting for health care, but she really will be fighting to continue Planned Parenthood’s billion-dollar “nonprofit” work of killing babies in the womb.
