The National Right to Life Committee has issued its endorsement of South Carolina’s pro-life incumbent Governor Henry McMaster. In their letter dated September 21, 2018, David O’Steen, Ph.D., the NRLC executive director, and Karen A. Cross, the NRLC political action director wrote:

“You are a strong advocate for life. You support pro-life legislation, including the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would protect unborn children by prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.

You oppose the use of government funds for abortion, and you oppose giving hundreds of millions of dollars of government funds to abortion providers.

In contrast, your opponent, James Smith, supports a policy of abortion on demand, and using taxpayer dollars to pay for abortion.”

In May, South Carolina Citizens for Life LIFEPAC endorsed Governor McMaster as the pro-life incumbent in the Republican Primary Election. The endorsement continues for the General Election against pro-abortion Democrat James Smith.

As a member of the S.C. House of Representatives, Smith votes against laws that protect the lives of unborn children. Most recently Smith voted to keep the savage practice of dismembering living unborn children legal in South Carolina. Smith is endorsed by Planned Parenthood, the nations largest abortion business that kills more than 300,000 innocent unborn children a year.
