When Ohio voters go to the polls in November they will have a pro-life candidate to support for governor. That’s because last night pro-life candidate Mike DeWine, the former Attorney General, won the Republican nomination for governor.
DeWine has an extensive pro-life record and has been instrumental in holding the abortion industry accountable and supporting he pro-life legislation to protect unborn children. He also enjoys support from pro-life organizations. Together, pro-life candidates Mike DeWine and Jon Husted won the Republican primary for Governor/Lt. Governor of Ohio.
After the vote, Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life, told LifeNews that DeWine will need pro-life support against a pro-abortion opponent in November.
“Ohio Right to Life commends Mike DeWine on his big victory tonight. Make no mistake, pro-life Ohioans stepped up and visibly demonstrated their support for Mike DeWine. We are proud to support him as the best leader for Ohio’s future and are confident that he will beat his pro-abortion opponent this fall,” he said. “The stakes are high, and lives hang in the balance, as we seek to continue the progress of the last seven years. We know that Mike DeWine will champion this cause and ensure that Ohio remains a strong pro-life state.”
He added: “After enacting 20 pro-life initiatives during the past 7 years, Ohio must continue its progress with a strong pro-life partner in the Governor’s office. Mike DeWine’s pro-life accomplishments has saved countless babies and their mothers and it is with great pride and confidence that we endorse him. I urge our membership to not only vote for the DeWine ticket, but to also work actively within their communities to promote DeWine’s pro-life message. DeWine has a proven track record from crafting life saving laws at the state and national level.”
“Mike DeWine has long been a passionate defender of the right to life of every human person,” added Marshal Pitchford, chairman of the Ohio Right to Life PAC board. “Ohio needs strong pro-life leaders who will protect and defend innocent human life. Mike DeWine will assuredly do just that.”

DeWine has also been instrumental in shutting down an abortion clinic violating state law. And a key investigation spearheaded by DeWine revealed Planned Parenthood to be sending aborted children’s remains to landfills.
