A Republican Congressman says that President Donald Trump is a refreshing change from pro-abortion former president Barack Obama.
Congressman Mark Walker, a Republican from North Carolina, is an Evangelical minister. In a recent interview about Evangelical voters and whether they are pleased with President Trump or not, Congressman Walker said Evangelical voters are probably happy with President Trump because he has been a pro-life breath of fresh air from Obama.
Parker specifically referenced Obama’s pro-abortion record and mention how Obama one time said that God should bless Planned Parenthood.
As President, Donald Trump has signed the Mexcio City Policy to defund International Planned Parenthood, defunded UNFPA, and signed legislation to allow states to defund Planned Parenthood. He also overturned the Obama HHS mandate forcing Christian groups to fund abortions.
WEIR: You’re a Southern Baptist minister. I was raised in that world, and it always fascinates me that so many evangelicals went for a man who might answer the question, What Would Jesus Not Do? How do you reconcile your faith with this president, politically?
WALKER: Well, I will tell you this. After eight years of the Obama administration, where — there were legitimate direct lines of people who were social conservatives, things like the former president saying “God bless Planned Parenthood,” those kinds of things riled up the evangelical base, you are correct, to the tune of 81 percent of electoral turnout.
